At the risk of jinxing either or both myself and the bike I just thought I'd say that there is nothing wrong with my 1299S and its quite probably the best bike I have ridden. I can't help but wonder how Ducati are going to better it with the model but for now I simply look forward to riding it.
The fuelling is good with no snatchy throttle, paintwork seems to be ok and hasn't worn through anywhere, nothing has fallen off, the heat is no worse than the 1199 (perhaps even a little less?) and the fuel consumption is largely governed by my enthusiastic right hand, Im happy to put more fuel in the tank to enable my early morning 'enthusiastic commute'. The handling is sublime and the noise through the Akrapovics is nothing short of addictive.
I'm sure it has some faults but I'm too busy enjoying it to worry about them and I'm definitely not worried about if an R1M/S1000RR/ZX10-R have an extra couple of horsepower as I love the power delivery, noise and characteristics of the Ducati vtwin and find an IL4 fairly utilitarian and just get bored of them. At the end of the day, it was my choice to by the Ducati.
Brands Hatch GP Circuit track day next week - can't wait
