Anyone run across the specs for this? I'm thinking it's a 195. If so a 180 might be helpful to slow the heat transfer to one's butt. Thanks.

Wow. Thanks. 149F. This is the same spec as every one they've ever used since the first desmoquattro. Probably the same part (they can be in different housings). Weird size. I could never find a replacement. Standard ducati. On the belt drive naked twins (monsters, sf's) the thermostat has the same spec but the cold enrichment system signs off at about 170. So when it's cold outside they run at 149F and get lousy fuel economy (not to mention the oil being too cold etc). These run so hot it'll probably never be a problem.

This was useful. Ducati says the span of the 5 bars on the temperature display is 40 C to 166 C. Span being 126 C. So each segment is about 25 C. So when the second bar lights it's at 65C at the thermostat set point. Third bar 90 C, 4th bar 115 C, 5th bar 140 C. If mine ever lights the 5th bar I'm turning it off. That's right about the boiling point of water at 1.6 bar (23 psi). I run 25% coolant, watter wetter and distilled water. Good to know.

Make that if it turns on the fourth bar (239 F) i'm turning it off. And probably thinking about retorquing the heads.
