ive been waiting on a replacement bike for a few months and have been going back and forth on selling it or keeping when it finally arrived. Well yesterday I finally got to pick it up and take it home. I'm still on the fence in what to do as far as keeping it and enjoying it or selling it. It's 2016 1299 base with 10 miles and I just submitted the paper work for title. I've seen some used ones at dealers asking 17,500, but they don't seem to sell. What is a solid price on these used?

what do you mean your replacement? your first bike totaled? and this is your replacement ?

I think you might be right with the top being 17500 . you'd think yours would be at the upper end in value since its got 10 miles on it

I'd say the wholesale value is somewhere around 15k .

this time of year where you live you're going to get very little local interest IMO

ok so you bought it and having some second thought?

you probably wont be able to sell it more than 15k at best. probably more like 14k even if its new...

I think difference between low miles of 2-3k wont make too much difference and probably can sell at 14k year later so my recommendation is to enjoy it. Unless you find someone crazy enough to buy at higher price now.

I had a thread in the 1199 section about bike troubles and this is my replacement. I didn't buy it, it was given to me.

Used 2016 1299s at my dealer is at $20,000. They're not moving at this price.
That'll make a nice track bike. Keep it.

IF it's a gift then keep it ... or you will break the person's heart that gave you the bike.

Owning a Ducati you can expect some troubles :) make sure you got extended warranty ... we are looking at trading one of ours in on a Yamaha R1 but they are ugly the more we look at them especially those crab eyes omfg those japs they have to uglify everything because "we're Japanese" !!!

My wife wants to keep mine and trade hers in because there is always something wrong with it :( but that means she will force me to ride the Yamaha R1 and it doesn't make me feel special riding those jap bikes :)

Nothing will make you feel special like a Ducati not even the Aprilia.

Since your bike is new it wont matter whether you sell it now or 12 months down the road with a few more miles on it you will still fetch 14K to 15K at best.
