I gotta say I think I like the twin a bit better. I think it looks a bit sleeker. Not sure if its the wings or not.

I have not looked it up but does anyone know the actual weight difference between the two? Is the V4 lighter?

Much better less problems, less crap to deal with, more resources, less weight and definitely more nimble bike.

Well if I had $50 to $60 K burnin a hole in my pocket I would go the 1299 SL.... Or..... I could take some of that $$$$$ drop it into my Panigale R model and have an even more bitchin bike!

How does the maintenance schedule compare
V4 SL vs PV4
1299 SL vs 1299 base

If you follow supercar prices you’ll notice some get to the cheapest they’ll ever be as they age and then the value goes up as they age more
Are the prices the lowest they’ve ever been on something like a 1299 SL? I can’t see it going up in value as miles are logged

Maybe we’ll see some used V4 SLs for sale soon.
I’d sell my 1299S to make room for one

I do remember seeing a nicely modded V4 R for sale just a few months after they became available here but it could have been a scam ad

I don't suppose, if the SL is in your vicinity, you could measure the distance from the centre of the swingarm pivot, to the centre of the rear axle!?

And, if you have a PV4R nearby, the same measurement? I believe the V4SL has a slightly longer swingarm.

:D

It's OK, I just looked up the wheelbases. The SL is 10mm longer, which I believe is in the swingarm length.

Nothing special just more junk from the factory that's in the shop waiting for recalls, parts replacement due to failure and little bit of decoration add ons.

Sad to hear this but even more sad is I agree. Reliability.......... [emoji30]

Very nice bike, gotta love the haters, there everywhere but they still take the time to waste there time and hate, gotta love it!!

No haters here man you probably haven't been around these bikes long the quality control at the factory has taken a huge dump the last 10 years. The 99 was a failure and now the V4 its worse. The bikes we are building are nothing like what the factory is putting out thats for sure. Then ya have the service side what a horror show.
