New to ducati, but glad and lucky to finally have one.
Previously rode Harley.
My question pertains to whether I'm inadvertently lugging my motor.
Motor never has given off the tell tale sign of lugging(shaking, bogging down, no acceleration...).
Specs on the new Hypermotard 950 tell 80+% of its torque comes in at 3000rpm.
I however at times don't shift down from 3rd going into a corner and roll onto throttle coming out when motor is reving at just above 3000. Probably would accelerate sharper if I had dropped down to 2nd though.
Also when going up long hills as long as motor is pulling and accelerating and I'm above 4000 rpm I don't downshift.
I realize the topic of lugging a motorcycle is subjective, but can I have your feelings on this matter and whether I've done any damage as it's a new motor.
Have a great riding season All!!
Really love my Duc
