well yesterday as i was looking at my carbon fiber key guard gloss and my carbon fiber air ducts gloss and this 2 inch damn plastic thing that they are attached to was driving me nuts. so i ordered the behind the dash panel. its a carbon fiber piece that goes behind the dash board (you see it behind the wind screen) around the light brackets inside and the air ducts clip to it. i had to change it i couldnt have my whole front carbon and not that.

Moral of story. since this was my second time taking it off instead of 2 hours to do it guessing if i got everything it took 10 MIN i couldnt believe it.

I also added gold fairing bolts. looks really good got them cheap off ebay. breaks up the red and black and i have black frame plugs so it matches the forks perfect with out OG (over gold for all im going to get you sucker fans)

PS the bolts you can get in red black or gold and they are BETTER than what duc gives you unreal.

gold vs black

I'll be taking my front fairing off soon....any suggestions that could save me 1:50 would be appreciated. ;)

I like the finger in the first picture! Really breaks up the scene :D.

The gold looks better than I thought.

Remove top side fairings first, then remove keyguard, then remove the black covers the fairings latch into. Remove few bolts and clips under the front end (under headlight, 3 on each side I think). Remove mirrors. Remove 2 bolts in the rear side of headlight, one on each side, they're in between the headlight adjustment screws. Pull front fairing out parallel to ground away from bike, there is a plastic plug that is on the front of the headlight.

Hope that helps. It's pretty straightforward.

not much to add to that except use wd40 on the plastic plug also when putting back on use wd40 so if you every have to take it off again it comes out much easier

Nice work Mark, I am looking forward to seeing all that Glossy carbon on your bike.

The Tri has a GPS module fitted and visible from the front cowling, alas I have not seen any vendors offering a carbon cowl which accommodates the GPS.

Nice work, Mark.

How many miles on that thing? Prob have more hours working on it than miles riding it!

Get that bitch on the road, Bro!!

spray silicone is something I started using on all rubber grommets and such years ago, keeps the rubber supple and won't dry out.

not much to add to that except use wd40 on the plastic plug also when putting back on use wd40 so if you every have to take it off again it comes out much easier

cali you are correct if you have a tri you cant get this piece

Id have to say black! Only cause the forks and shock are enough, also a gold chain and gold on brembo rotors here, and a gold carrier...but cant go wrong either way

my shock and shock reservoir are covered in carbon. so you cant see them. all you can see gold on my bike are the new bolts and the forks. oh and the chain just enough for me .

I would use soapy water to reinstall it. Reason is, the water will evaporate and leave it just as it is from the factory.

Just my .02c
