So i decided to go ahead and mount the Gloss DP carbon fiber heat shield that came with my bike. Went out for a shakedown run after doing some other mods, and kept smelling something. Figured it could be the air filter (MWR) or cleaner burning off the exhaust.
So when i stop and get off the bike low & behold the carbon heat shield is bubbling and burnt! Not sure if this is common or has even happened to anyone else?
Thought the metal shield might of gone underneath it, but it would not fit over it. Guess i will be looking for the larger heat shield now.

I have ran my stock exhaust with gloss CF heat shield without the stock metal shield with no problems. Although now going to a full Termi system I have to use the larger heat shield and its gloss as well. Not sure why yours burned through but I did have my stock rear fender burn and I replaced it with Cf gloss and no problems since.

Do you have stock exhaust? Where did it burn? I didnt know DP made a gloss? I thought the only thing offered by DP was matte.

Running termi slip-ons, upmap, mwr air filter, emmisions removed and pair block off plates.. The carbon fiber is not GLOSS, but it is not matte.. If that makes sense? well now it is brown, black and bubbley..

Plan on doing the full headers so, wouldnt be needing it in the end anyways.

What I've seen has the stock metal shield underneath and I've never seen gloss from Ducati either..

I wonder if a previous owner sold you the bike plus parts and claimed they were Ducati Performance. I've never, ever seen gloss carbon fiber from Ducati - only matte.

TDJ that is the cleanst rear brake fluid I've ever see on a panigale... Mine turned blue within the first ride. Did you just flush it? Lol

DP only makes matte cf heat shields for the Pani. The Dragon .... is wearing the latest (big version) of the DP cf heat shield sans metal inner and it does not burn. It is gloss, but I had it gloss coated afterwards. It has never even remotely threatened to burn or bubble.
