Hi All,
Upgrading my track bike to a base 1199 and I'm looking for some feedback on which brand of track bodywork people are using/recommending. My first inclination is to go with Shark Skinz, but I'm open to any brand.

Thanks!

also planning to get some beginning next year.

I ended up with Shark Skinz (dealer hook up), and they are great! Everything was predrilled and came with the Dzus fasteners and screws. The fit was perect rite out of the box. Very happy. I have seen the CRC stuff and it is also very good. So you can't go wrong with either one and Ducati Omaha had CRC in stock.

Luckily I never got to crash-test the Catalyst bodywork this year, but the fit was very nice and it's great quality stuff. So is SharkSkinz, I've had many sets of that over the years on various race bikes and it always fits and repairs well. Armour Bodies is good too, but they don't have a Panigale kit available yet.

Personally I'm holding out for the Armour Bodies set. I had a set on my S1000RR and they held up really well when the unfortunate happened.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Pretty much confirms what I was thinking. Has anyone had any issues with the belly pans not fitting around the termi full system? There seems to be a few diffrent configurations out there (bodywork wise) and there's a note on the Shark Skinz web site about the belly pan option only working with the termi system, so I was just curious if that was the case with some of these other brands.

I really like the pre-cut foam pad seat option for use with the SBK tail that Armor Bodies has as opposed to the cut-it-yourself out of a 12"X12" pad that SS offers.

wilkson, sweet looking bike you have there!

jarelj, Just wanted to tell you I enjoyed reading the write-up you did on tracking your 1199. You made a lot of good points for guys like myself who are looking to put together a 1199 for the track.

Hey Doug thanks .
I have the oil retention bellypan fitted with the full system it works well with no issues .

Oh interesting, the fan shroud has to be removed to fit the belly pan? What track fairings are these?

I went with the Shark Skinz. Great fit, and super easy to mount. They also pre-cut and beveled the seat pad for me @ N/C. I've opted not to use the belly pan though. It seems like an awful lot of work to have to remove and re-install it every time you change the oil.

Hey there, like Wilkson I went with CRC and pleased. Initially had the Cruciata fairings but there were some fit issues. Belly pan is required on my race bike so had no choice but to install termi cans as the stock cans don't allow enough spacing for the pan from any of the makers IME.

Shark Skinz are a great product and would have ordered those, but unfortunately not yet ready for the Pani at the time.

Cheers

i noticed that you removed the fan behind the rad, is this needed to fit the bodywork or something you do with all your race bikes?

Yep as mentioned it needs to be off for the oil pan . I would have taken it off regardless .

Good stuff to see on Shark Skinz as they have always been #1 in my book!

Thanks for posting this Phil as it sheds light on it from a whole different POV.

Need to be thinking down the road with this stuff as its made as secondary to your OEM bodywork. I actually used a set on 2 different manufacturer racebikes (riders doing double take seeing Ducati bodywork on an SV) and kept a set on street bike for YEARS winning shows with it. So it does hold its value and go a long way!

We are running the Shark Skinz on our bike, with a back up set and we love the fit finish and as experienced at NOLA the crashability! Good stuff.

Have Sharkskinz come up with a total kit at one price? Or is it a la carte? The website is piece by piece. What has it costed for others?
