Ive been wanting to try out the Dunlop Q2's for a while now because of the price. I was hesitant because they do not offer the correct rear size, and thought it would mess with the traction control too severely. Ducati says to only go with Pirelli because of the compound and blah blah whatever. here is a few clips from my track day on the Dunlop Q2's with a 190/55 rear.

TC is set at 2 in the video.

The traction control does intervene a lot more. Next time ill bump it down to level 1 and see what happens. But for someone like me, beginner rider, who just wants to go have fun at the track and be economical... Id say the Q2's are a go.

Awesome vid. The beginning is perfect! You go by the Beemer like it's sitting still.:p

Q2s are my fav tire of choice! I trust that tire in hot, cold, wet, dry, curvy, straight and etc. conditions. Best tire all-around time hands down, very trust inducing.

OP, your clip on inputs are rock solid in corners, very nice. Those dark patches, is that moisture or different compound of asphalt?

thank you, well, that brief loss of traction at 4:50 was a wet spot. and there is a couple more spots where water seepage is right on the line, but most of it is just patch work.

great vid, thanks for sharing what seems to have been a fun day at the track.

Nice vid!

Can you show me where you mounted your gopro? Thanks a ton.

Any comments as to differences between the Q2's and Pirellis? I've been contemplating this change also and would like to hear your thoughts as to differences in turn-in, grip, tire feedback in corners, etc. between the two.

Great report and video on the Q2s. My favorite tire as well. I was hoping that they would have our tires by now. I swear Ducati and Pirelli are dicking us around keeping the choices limited. I'll be curious on your report when you switch to TC1.

evol, i mounted the gopro right behind the keyhole with one of the 3m sticky mounts.

charlie, i feel like the pirellis turn in faster and do have more grip and you can ride more aggressively, that being said for a street tire the Q2's work just fine i feel. You can still get awesome drive out of corners and the grip is fine, just know the boundaries of the tire. I do a lot of highway riding to work and the pirellis get squared off too easily and i don't feel like throwing down the cash for a brand new set of tires every time i go to the track.
