Anyone have this happen to them or know the likely cause?

At the track there is a high speed corner I take in 5th gear at around 200km then have around 200 meters to drop down 3 gears to make a hair pin in 2nd.

I can always gear down one gear fine but for the next two (3rd & 2nd) I can't get them in without having to tap the lever 2 or 3 times (with the clutch disengaged)before they will engage.

Up shifting has not been a problem.

Not sure if it's a gearbox issue or what?

If you have aftermarket rearsets, you may want to check their connection with the shift rod. Mine wiggled loose and caused that issue... kind of.

Another thing... try bleeding your clutch master cylinder.

Thanks EvoL,

I've been bleeding the clutch about once a week and just flushed the entire line with new motul 600.

Checked the rod connections and it all seems tight.

Stumped!

Maybe not enough travel? But if that was the case it would be problematic for all gear changes?

If you have to bleed the clutch once a week, I would say you have some sort of problem there. I would start there! :)

I do it weekly (on average) because I do a lot of track days.

Anyone needed to replace their master cylinder?
What did you purchase?

Also, is there any benefit in doing the slave also?

-- i'm not on the track, but have done enough street miles to know that a once a week clutch bleed is rather normal - it has been an issue going back many years - a new slave, or master cylinder will not solve it - if you find the solution, please let me know :)
