So I had just loaded up the Pani for it's trip out west with the shippers.

Felt bad as it pulled away. I knew the only thing to cure those blues was going to be a ride on the Bayliss 1098R.

Pulled it out onto the local parkway and was cruising along in my usual mildmhooligan manner (= raping the highway).

Next thing I hear; sirens and blips of a cop car. Lifted my arm in the chicken wing salute that all Duc riders need to use the friggin' mirror and right up my ... was a NYS trooper! These dudes are NOTORIOUS for tickets; once pulled over, you're guaranteed at least one ticket.

Thinking fast, I killed the bike and immediately put the keys into my pocket (always remember this boys and girls: they can't make you start your bike to check the pipes if the keys aren't there. You can refuse)

Ok; so I stay straddling the bike and the trooper comes up and says we have to talk. I ask can I please get off and he said yes. Being the proper gentleman at this point is crucial: he asked for my papers and I asked would he mind if I pullled my wallet out to do so and was I asking, "what happened? Did something fall off my bike? Is a the tail lite out?? Did you see that woman in the sentra cut me off and she was on her cell phone? "

He ignord my small talk and said my pipes are illegal and worth four summons alone. I explained that it was a special LE and that the pipes are stock from the factory can show him on my cell a website from Duc saying so.

He said I was changing lanes without directionals and speeding and passing the right. I asked, didnt jyou see how those crazy people were driving? I told him I watch traffic more closely than him and react to it in life preservation mode only.

Said he'd be right back and went to his car. I figured I was about to get a fist full of tickets and my bike impounded. Instead, when he came back, he said"you have no traffic infractions on record in NY" I said that's right; I'm very careful ;)

He then said he liked the red, white and blue American theme on my bike  and said have a nice day!!and be careful!!

I couldn't believe my luck! I am the first person I know to get pulled by a NYS trooper and not get some kind of ticket!!

Thank goodness he didn't know what the Australian flag looked like!!

Thanks, Troy! For putting that color scheme on the bike! It fooled an American state trooper!:D

Termis on a on a 1098 are too loud and worth 4 tickets?

wow...

I wonder what a new 108 harley with drags on it are worth?

You think the speeding, changing lanes w/ no signals, passing on the right MIGHT have keyed him off? ;-)

something tells me my new exhaust will be short lived here in NY...

The real reason RSR has no tickets is that he's got mad OB Wan Jedi mind tricks.

highway patrol

Highway patrol in the 5 Boroughs of nyc or even state troopers are like cyborgs with no emotion and appear unusually larger then other cops.... If your a cop and your speeding past them be prepared for a long lecture with your annoying hs teacher if your a civilian with pba cards ha! Your getting those cards tossed at you!! I got 5 pending speeding tickets with my lawyer and these guys are no joke.... Consider yourself lucky!

In St Louis, you can fix a ticket for $50-$75 - convert to non-moving violation. I've had several, and my lawyer "took care" of everyone.

this is

This is what hwy patrol look like to me

I got pulled over once on the Palisades Pkwy (in NY area) and they also let me go due to the clean record.
Thanks for the advice on the keys~

Here in Québec fines increase pretty steep with speed and if you go half the limit over, you can get your vehicle impounded and your licence suspended.

Have a sticker with the department logo on all my stuff, saved me 2 impounds last summer, once at 85 in a 50 zone, the other time 147 in an 80 zone (km/h's).
That last one got me a severe lecture though:eek:

Glad my brother is a trooper , got my handy family / get out of ticket card . Lucky me !!!!:D

With that kind of good luck you are ready for Vegas........wait I am going there tomorrow and will put something on the table for you!

Not bad, I got pulled over by a sheriff for 85 in a 55, didn't see his light bar (dark outside) coming towards me until it was too late. Pulled over, shut it off, and handed him my stuff. Asked my I had Colorado plates and a Florida license, said military and he went to call in my license. Came back said it was a nice bike and sorry for the wait. Asked if I get pulled over a lot, said no he was the first. Let me off with a warning and to watch out for deer at 85. I I have no mirrors or turnsignals, and have a full Termi. I didn't even mention those. Lol

That story is priceless!! that's awesome!! have a nice day!! be safe!! hahaha..... ON ONE WHEEL!!!
