'm following the directions for "Windows 8" in regards to connecting wirelessly to the WB-01.
I have connected the WB-01 via the supplied USB cable, the power light is on and the MTS light is blinking. Everything that is supposed to be happening. However, my computer will find the WB-01, but then gives me this error, "FAILED TO COMPLETE XML PROFILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I am attaching a picture of this. I cannot figure out how to get past this step, and the Wi-Fi is required for data-logging. Please advise. I am running windows 8.1

Also, I'm using an imac with a partitioned hard drive and windows 8.1 on that partition.
I'm going to try to barrow a friend's windows laptop today and see if that makes a difference.
It says I can do almost everything with the USB cable, but need the wifi for data logging.

I have the TuneBoy w/ cruise for my Pani Tricolore. I could not get my MacBook Pro to complete the install, and had to use my wife's PC. Went super easy then. I would suggest the cable (versus wifi) as it take 5 seconds to hook it up and you get perfect data transmission that way (eliminates another source of potential error). Great system, and I hope you have better luck with support from Wayne than the rest of us did. Patience is required big time. Good luck on your project.

I have TB and highly recommend using a windows based laptop. I could never get an emulator on my macbook air to work either.

Not sure if you've read through our horror stories but there are a few of us that have gotten used to the software and have figured out some things. Once you get it installed and can communicate with the bike, then the real fun starts lol. And by fun I mean migraine headaches lol. Jk but it can be a bear at some points. :D

Same here, I would eliminate any potential issues - maybe start with an XP. I might have had that error as well. It does work, and excellently, so just hang in there!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help. I decided to use a friends Windows 7 laptop and things went way smoother. Here is my next question. Which tune do you use? These are the ones that I saw, and this one highlighted in blue is the one I chose. Did I do the right thing?

My second question is it allows me to upload a trim file, but I don't know if that's something that I have or something that I have to create.

I didn't use any tuning yet, just the Cruise - what is your exhaust setup?

Stock exhaust.
Is "Stick 1" "Sick 2" "Stick 3" stock tunes? Or should I use the "Cruise only" until I can get on a dyno?

Stick 1 is standard.

Stick 2 is slip-on Termi.

Stick 3 is full system Termi.

CruiseOnly is just that.

STDTune is the stock firmware, and restores the bike to factory.

Then you can match that .dat file to the trim file of your choice.

Depends on what exhaust you have. OR, what runs best. I used the Termi ones and had a HUGE flat spot in midrange. Then I got Phil's cored exhaust and am using the Akra tune.

Remember there are TUNE files, then the TRIM files. The tune is the main tune for the bike and then you can add up to 3 trim files that you adjust in the "TB Trim" program. I would use the "Stick 1" and see how it goes.

Another tidbit is to do the uploads wired in. If you do wifi it takes forever! Imho anyways.

Also, the cruise and nudge buttons (if you have them like I do) can be activated by getting into the options popup and just clicking the boxes you want. You DO NOT have to flash the ecu to send those commands to the ecu. That box is a command to the ecu and should be instantaneously i.e. "reset oil change light".

Hope this helps :)

BUUTTTTTT, you can load 3 of them and goof around town and see how she responds. Probably not good but that's the fun in tuning haha. Not too many guys have tried diff trims on Stick ! Tune. I can tell you the Termi ones SUCK and kill mid range.

You can load 3 trims, then while riding, pull over, kill the key switch. Wait 3secs, then turn key on, Press clutch in and hold it, then open throttle to 100% "pinned" and you'll see the tach move to 7500krpm. Now, the bike is on the 2nd trim file you loaded. Do this process again and the tach will go to 10krpm, and you're on the 3rd trim file you loaded. As far as I think, when the bike starts right after reflash it is on the the TUNE + 1st TRIM. Someone may correct me on this, but it's been a while since I've had to tune the bike. So you can test on the fly (sorta).

I'm still working on tuning the quick shifter and auto-blipping downshift tune btw.

There isn't a matching trim file for the stock exhaust.

The .dat files also disable the O2 sensors IIRC so you can add the wideband sensors and use the data logging to create your own custom map.

These are semi-custom trims. The idea with tuning a bike if you don't know, and I didn't...is that you are trying to seek an ideal air fuel ratio. Obviously, if you change one part of the engine, say the exhaust, then you would have to change the fuel ratio to compensate.

You can see the different trim values when you look at the different trim files in the trim program.

I'm perfectly happy with the stock exhaust. The only reason I got this is to add cruise control and hopefully smoothing out the throttle response with the tuning portion. So from what I'm gathering I probably shouldn't be using the supplied tunes and trims, but instead get a custom tune. I'm not sure how to do that myself, so should probably go somewhere with a dyno that is familiar with tuneboy.
