Has anyone seen a write-up on how to physically mount, and program the Tuneboy ECU/Cruise control unit? Short of a complete write-up, can you let me know where you installed the ECU on the Panigale, and maybe any advise in regards to the nudge button install as well. The instructions that come with the unit are devoid of any physical instructions on mounting, wiring routing, etc. Thanks in advance.

The time boy would be anninterstingnpiece of hardware for the 1199. I assume it would go int eh rear cowl. Please give us a review

the tuneboy doesnt need permanent mounting or installing physically, it's basically just a temp connection of the tuning box to the diagnostics connector in the toolkit compartment, then upload of tune tunes using software..........however you can leave connected permanently if you want for Wifi tuning etc. Sorry cant help on the nudge buttons but I think you use the connector from one of the O2 sensors.

I have heard back from Wayne at Tuneboy. He states what Hugepiece said, the unit is not permanently mounted unless you want to deal with it through wi-fi versus USB cable. You merely connect it on a temporary basis through the diagnostic connector in the tail section. The nudge button unit connects to the O2 sensor connect under the right side fairing panel. The unit must be connected to the bike, key on, kill switch in run position, for it to be downloaded. A TuneKey is required to access the system (available through Tuneboy vendors). Other than that I am still at a loss. One step at a time and I will hopefully get this up and running. Still unsure as to how I save the Ducati upmap in case I prefer it to the Tuneboy version. Any help on these or other related issues will be greatly appreciated.

you cant download your current map for re-uploading later. but tuneboy has the standard 0206 map now, if you want to put back on. I assume then you should be able to use your USBKEY again to re-enable like before, but have done it myself (only have standard pipes).

Hugepiece, My USB key for the Termi slip on was - like all others included with the Tricolore - for the original map which was later updated by my dealer service dept. Will the USB key unlock that updated program, or the original program? You referred to the original 0206 map - what does that number refer to? Thanks again for you help and advise.

sorry not sure on the USB stick piece, as i dont have one. however, 0206 refers to the latest tune ver that the dealers put on your bike, so if you apply tuneboy and dont like it for whatever reason you can just flash back to standard. I assume you can just use the USB stick to re-unlock the termi code again. i'm sure someone else here will chime in and confirm.

There is no conflict between the USB 'Up-map' and the tuneboy install. All road ECUs (ie not the Race ECU) come with 3 map bundles - std, racing(termi slips), racing-evo(full termi). The USB up-map simply activates the correct bundle for your exhaust. All tuneboy 'tunes' contain the same map bundles as factory and the currently active bundle is selected as before with USB stick. The selection is NOT reset during the installation and there is no need to reapply or remove the up map. (I have a tri)
206 is the current gazetted Ducati ECU firmware release. The Tuneboy release of this standard version (ie no tuning or cruise) is available for download. The tune and cruise releases are pending.
Cruise control does not require the permanent installation of any hardware. On the Pani the up down buttons on the left bar CAN be used as nudge. Extra buttons can be fitted as an option using the oxygen sensor plugs. Probably good to remove the sensors if doing that as I understand they can be damaged if run unpowered for too long (<10,000km)
Personally I don't bother with nudge I just readjust my speed and reset cruise.

Pouakai, thanks for all the info. That clears up a lot. I purchased the nudge button setup, but would prefer to just use the existing switches - cleaner install. Will the O2 sensors be damaged since the Tuneboy turns them off as I understand it? Do you know where to buy correct bung plug bolts if I remove the sensors? Thanks again for your help.
