So I'm digging through piles of parts in my basement looking for something else and realize I still have the full Magneti-Marelli Superbike Electronics kit that came off of my 899/1199R hybrid bike I built a few years ago. I'm not sure how I forgot I had that, it would be the equivalent of having another bike that you forgot you owned....
Anyway, if you happen to have a '13/'14 1199R track/race bike (or at least a bike with that engine in it), do I have a deal for you! This kit comes with everything, completely ditch all of the stock electronics and wiring harness from the bike, and replace with the WSBK-level Marelli kit including the dash, ECU, data logger, potentiometers for suspension, load cell for quick shift/auto blip, brake pressure sensor, etc. It would WORK on other Panigale models as well, but would not be plug-and-play, it would require fitting and dyno tuning by a race mechanic who knows the Marelli system. The ECU as delivered is mapped for the '13/'14 1199R engine and injectors, bolt it on and the bike "should" fire right up with the settings I was using.
Why would you want it? Well, honestly anyone who's really a candidate for it probably already knows why they want it...... but basically it's a full professional level race-spec system with fully programmable functions, and every aspect of it works at a level beyond what stock electronics are capable of. Also with the full data logger and the accompanying software, you can analyze every aspect of rider and bike performance on the track. Bottom line is any fast rider will go around the track faster with this on their bike than with stock electronics, which is why all of the professional teams use this (or something similar to it). Do you NEED it? No. Is it really COOL? Yes. I had a ton of fun with it, analyzing laps against each other and seeing where I could improve as a rider PLUS modifying the settings on the bike to suit my riding style so I could go faster. It's pretty amazing. It's also really detailed and takes some study to come to terms with what you can really do with it.
I can't really post a "price", if this is something that you are interested in just contact me and make an offer. For reference if you got a new kit and had it installed by a competent race mechanic, you'd be looking at around $18,000 plus tuning costs. I have spares of some of the sensors, I'll send you absolutely everything I have for it.
Here's the kit we're talking about:
