This happened to me on my 1199.
Luckily I was still in warranty and they replaced it.
I believe I may have cracked it or knocked it loose when I had accidentally dropped the bike while parked.
They had to replace the entire assembly unfortunately. Depending on your bike, you can probably pick one up on ebay easy enough.
