I know there are some other threads talking about delivery dates but I am getting pretty impatient haha... I was told I would be getting my 1199s early March but then my dealer told me they wouldn't even have the vin number for another week or two meaning I will receive the bike last week of march or first week of april I think. Has anyone in the US with early delivery got an exact date or even a week yet? I know the wait is worth it but I am losing sleep over this thing! :(

I was told first week of April by the dealer, I'm in the same boat as you; am losing sleep over getting my standard 1199.

All I was told so far is that my Tricolore would arrive in April.... Haven't been able to get anything more than that. It sucks!

Dealer can't give me a date here in Indiana but dealer in Chicago said would have them by the end or March.

My 1199s with ABS not coming into Mpls until late April... By that time, the snow will be melted and roads will be ready!!!

It appears that the natives...ummm ducatisti are getting restless. Can't say I blame you, I agree and knew these posts would EVENTUALLY appear. I was wondering what took you all so long to realize that Panigales cannot be delivered if they are not manufactured...and it has been well reported by first hand visit to the factory in Bologna that as of 2 weeks ago no Tricolores were being made and only a few base models had been built. S models may appear soon (since Ducati FINALLY homologated the bike [as of March 1st -- so at least we know they've made 250 bikes], but March delivery is looking unlikely. As for delivery times for Tricolore or Base/Base ABS -- who knows. Ducati has received about as many pre-orders/orders for Panigales as they are going to; at this point (especially since winter is over and racing/riding season is upon us), people will start to cancel orders if the product isn't delivered -- and certainly if delivery dates are not more precise. Asking your dealer when they are going to arrive is somewhat pathetic since Ducati NA didn't even seem to have much of a clue at the recent International Motorcycle Show. However, Ducati's focus (or rather InvestIndustial's) is unwavering in its desire to sell the company. Snowball's chance in hell that's going to happen at anywhere close to the price they are seeking (or before they deliver production bikes), but you can't fault them for not wanting to continue to invest large amounts of cash with no return on investment in sight -- well, unless they get lucky enough to find some foo, umm acquirer.

Great news!
Just got a call from the dealer!
Confirmed for the last week of March in US!

The baby is coming ...

Funny.. I just got a call from my dealer a few minutes after replying to this thread.. They told me things are running far behind and they don't know when to expect the bikes. He said definitely not March and was told don't count on April.

I can't believe a manufacturer would keep their dealers (and customers) in the dark like this. If you are having delays, be upfront and honest and tell us why and when to expect delivery.

Does it really matter? They are sold out, if you back out of the deal, every dealer probably has a waiting list.

I live in Ohio and I ordered an S with ABS!

I'm sorry to hear you are disappointed. I don't know how it works here in US (just relocated), but I can tell you that in Europe is quite easy to have a good connection with Ducati and a lot of good infos.

Hell yes it matters. What an ignorant comment. One of the building blocks of a successful business is customer satisfaction and good customer service. Perhaps Ducati shares your view which could be one of the reasons why they are billions in debt.

I won't be cancelling my order but their chances of me pre-ordering another model from Ducati in the future has gone down a bit. And no, they aren't "sold out". There have been a good number of pre-orders but there will be bikes available when they get them built.

sajonf - not sure where you got your "Billions of Debt" information.

2008 - NET income $32 Million

Since then went private (they do not disclose financials, so again not sure where you did your homework) and sales have increased dramatically.

I would say there marketing campaign has been pretty successful and client satisfaction high based on actual company financials

Any report you read about the possibility of Audi purchasing Ducati states that they will take on Ducati's debt which is over $1B. I don't believe every report I read on the web but they all seem to be pretty consistent.

Just because their net income in 2008 was $32M doesn't mean they aren't in debt. Maybe you shoud do some homework.

Don't get me wrong, I want Ducati to be successful and I am not saying their customer satisfaction is not high - just that the way they are keeping all their dealers in the dark (at least in the US) about delivery delays is not a good way to practice business. Their dealers are their feet on the street and they look pretty silly when they can't tell you a reasonable timeframe on when to expect their product.

Are we sure that the issue is Ducati and not the US dealers?
Any single order is placed in a web system and they got an order confirmation.
They can access the web system costantly with updates about the delivery date and they receive the V.I.N. number as soon as the bike has been shipped to US.

Dealers sometimes overbook their availability (and this happens all over the world and for every Brand when you have a really hot new release) and they promise unreasonable delivery dates just to get more orders.
They will never tell you it's their fault but they will blame the bad manufacturer.

This is (business) life!
