Just talked to my dealer today who acknowledged that he had a call form Ducati stating that he could expect a delivery of Panigales by the end of March. No clue was given as to the model(s) included in the delivery at this time.

Better not be a misguided "April's Fools"...

Any bets on a date for the first confirmed customer delivery?

lucky .......s lol

either way im happy when bikes start getting shipped...I been hearing talks of dealers getting "demo" bikes too which would be ........ !!

they dont need no damn demo bikes, tha damn thing sells it self

If my dealer gets a demo bike beleive me ill make that hour drive everyday to ride it lol

I agree Ducenzo, My local dealer said they are getting the bikes in April, its killing me because; I was told March was the delivery data and now it has been moved to April. with my luck the delivery date will end up been 2013...lol

I think there are just a bunch of standard answers that the factory is giving to importers, which then get passed on further down the chain....

- end of March first bikes
- early April for higher volumes
- all models available in April

Personally, I doubt all 3 statements, but what are you gonna do

I heard that the Tricolore's are a limited production run and they are only building them for the first 3 months of the year. So in theory they should arrive first lol

Thing is, people visiting the factory have seen predominantly S models

Also, it's essentially a body panel set, so would make sense for them to churn out a bundle during the first year.

No question it's a year-1 model only, but maybe some dealers are just trying to make them seem a little more rare!!

Ducati Production Schedule:
Panigale S and S w/ABS
Pangigale Tricolore
Panigale Base and Base w/ABS

Prima fatto, prima consegna. It makes sense that additional stock is sent to dealers (most likely S models due to higher profit margin), since few buyers will walk into a showroom during race/riding season and be willing to wait 4 months for an ordered bike to arrive (most will buy something else..Ducati perhaps...perhaps not), so don't be surprised if someone is able to walk in and buy an S model before you see your Tricolore or Base/BaseABS. Someone on the forum said "they are making the bikes in the order of the orders placed." Umm, no (where do people come up with this stuff? sciocco ducatisti : )) Panigale's are being made according to the programma di produzione (which was in place months ago) and no production manufacturer would switch up the line during a run to make 1 of this and 1 of that...quality control would be awful if they did. Credere a quello che si vuole. Ducati has been very quiet about production, which has been slow; even journalists have said so (fewer than 20 were being built per day only a few weeks ago), but they sure haven't been quiet about trying to sell the company. It is however unlikely that anyone will tender an offer before they gauge the outcome of the Panigale introduction from a sales success perspective, especially since Ducati is certainly most known for its superbikes, not to mention the company isn't worth more than 3 times InvestIndustrial's original purchase price, especially given their abysmal performance (mainly due to recessive economy, but still) since 2005 (but that's another discussion).

Racing season kicks off April 1. Some Panigales should be delivered by then, however, since Ducati hasn't been making Tricolores or Base models, don't expect those to be in the crates. Further, while buyers (ductisti or otherwise) will wait during cold/non-riding season, winter months, patience will run thin once the temperature rises. Someone mentioned Ducati workers putting in overtime. LMAO. Oh mio Dio, molto divertente!

While my Italian isn't quite upto scratch, from what I could understand, that all sounds super sensible and plausible.

Where did you get the info Chuckadolcio?

Not sure UK dealers know themselves when they are getting the bikes from what I have heard. I was initially told by dealer it would be early April, but then told it had been brought foward until end of March.

Last week however I spoke to the dealer again & was informed that they were now expecting deliveries to be pushed back due to the factory being closed for an amount of time, and likely to be mid April before the 1st customer bikes turn up.

Personally, I am not particularly bothered it they are delayed a few weeks, as although the weather was good this weekend, it was only last week that there was still frost on ground. I have provisionally pencilled in trackdays start/end of May so as long as make one of these will be happy.

The first demo bike har arrived at my dealer in Norway. It's an 1199s.. I guess it means that min is comming soon also. :)

I was at the Scottish show yesterday and was speaking with a guy from Ducati Uk, told him that i have not received a date for getting the bike yet, he said i should have speak with Ducati Glasgow who was at the show and he was supporting there, i did and was told that no confirmation has been given on dates....however i spoke with another dealer a few weeks back and he confirmed he was getting 3 tris and one was available for june delivery.......seems people are contradicting each other, its beyond me how they can't give an idea of timescale, i had the same when buying my focus rs and rs500, customer service is non existent these days even when your spending a fortune on your dream!!!!

I had an email from my dealer today to say that delivery on the Panigales is being delayed, ducati won't tell them how long the delay will be !!

They know they have you in there hands, always the same when something that is sought after and in demand comes out.....i hate poor customer service but what can you do........buy an Aprillia :)

Not one i would go down to be honest!!! lol

i just feel dealership bull .... you a little, although i appreciate that they may not know exact dates they should have some indication of when to expect the bikes?

hi. i was supposed to get my base model by end of march.
because of the snowy weather the production delay is about two weeks. hopefully i will get mine by mid april. s-model will come before of that, for demo use.
i m pretty sure the s models are prior production, but base models will be built parallel, but fewer.

I don't think you're going to get accurate answers from either Ducati or the dealers. However, don't assume this means they don't know...

The fact that the Ducati uk rep at the Scotish show told you to speak to the Glasgow dealer suggests to me that the plans for which dealers are going to get what, and when, are well advanced. Ducati themselves can't be in the dark about their production schedules, but they wouldn't want to say anything that might contradict what their dealers have said to their customers.

From the dealers prospective they aren't going to make promises to you that they aren't certain they can keep. Lets face it, you might be disappointed if you're told your 1199 is a bit delayed, but you'd be a lot less happy if your dealer told you your bike was going to be here next week and then it didn't show up. If they set expectation low, they can call you with the unexpected good news when it does turn up on time. Besides, the dealers know that if you drop out, there are plenty more in the queue.

Let's wait and see. I predict the first 'my bike is here' report will be before mid-April.
