So I was well on my way to installing my new rearsets when I stripped the uniball thing attemping to remove the shift lever. That thing must have been torqued to hell from the factory with red thread lock. Anyways, I would appeciate any ideas of how to proceed from here. Also, is that part something I can order online somewhere or dealership only?

Thanks,

Jason

I heated the crap out of it and ground a slot for a flathead, no dice. I ended up just grinding the hole and pulling the ball out while laughing maniacally. I had to hold the lever in a vice and put a long pipe on a ratchet for leverage to get it to break. Thanks Ducati!

State Farm letting me do my own estimate after my lowside at Jennings helped me get pretty good at tracking down part #s and where to find them...Here you go, PN 84850021A ~$18

Thanks!

One more question. I had to order the joint and the uniball bolt separately. Will I have to press this in? Is this something a mechanically retarded layman can do or should I take it to the shop?

The bolt is not a press fit through the eye of the Uniball joint. It should pass through easily but without being an overly loose fitting. The eye of the ball is normally an M5 or M6 diameter, as will be the bolt. There will always be a degree of play, but not enough to cause concern/problems
