Up-map help

Hello ,I just sold my Termi slip-ons to get a used full termi system,but it dosent have an upmap. I reloaded the map to the Ducati memory stick to give to the buyer of my slip-ons. I know the dealer can upload that new map and did on my bike,is that the same as the up map memory card ?

There are actually no maps at all on your 'up-map device' (the usb look alike thingy), it contains only an activation key that unlocks a map bundle already loaded in your ECU.
The ECUs all contain from factory at least three map bundles: STANDARD, RACING, & RACING EVO. Each map bundle includes fuel maps for front and rear cylinders by both MAP(manifold air pressure) and throttle position, and then trims for each gear (front and rear again), ignition maps (front and rear), throttle maps for 'RACE','SPORT' &'RAIN' modes and possibly those are replicated for each gear as well. So that's 27 maps per bundle but I seen it stated that there are over 500 tables in that ECU so thats just the principal ones!
When you 'install' your 'RACING' up-map the 'RACING' bundle is unlocked within your ECU and the activation key on the up-map device is marked as 'in-use'. When you 'de-install' your RACING up-map the ECU reverts to the standard bundle and the activation key is marked as free on the device and is available for re-use somewhere else.
In the first instance I think you should be able to demand from the vendor of the full system the 'RACING EVO' up-map key that goes with it.
If that fails then I have little doubt that the dealers are able to Activate it for you, you just need to find a friendly one! ;-)

Good luck with finding another USB Key, especially the one that comes with the full Termi. I had a similar problem with my used Termi slips and my local dealers were kind of dicks about it. I found one on eBay from a Ducati dealer in MN and paid $150 for it.

Let me know if you can't find a dealer, I'll refer you to the MN dealer as they had customers that had custom tuning with aftermarket fuel controllers and they just might have a "RACING EVO" key laying around.

how do you re-install the upmap back into the stick? I'm in the process of selling my slip ons. When I plug it in to uninstall it back into the stick it doesn't give me the option to do so :|

never mind guys it worked after the 4th attempt. Plugged it in clicked download, unplugged it. I'm guessing the upmap is back in the stick as the dash does not say "Racing" anymore

Anyone figured out how to hack the thing yet?
