It's been a month since I got hit from behind. Thankfully, my ankle is healing well and I will be get my cast off next week.

The problem is my Panigale. I got a phone call from my insurance company and it was declared as a total loss. Total cost is about 14K.

So, here is the question for you guys. Is it better to repair my Pani or get a new one? I don't know how bad it is in terms of balance and durability. Also it's my first motorcycle accident..

What do you think?

Thanks for your opinion in advance.

Glad you're doing better.

I'd be a bit wary of rebuilding the Pani, frameless design just scares me. If any of those mount points were bent, weakened, etc., it would worry me. But that's just my opinion.

Good luck!

Have your dealer check the integrity of the bike for you. In a low side, I would say buy it and fix it. I don't know about a hit from behind, where the "frameless" integrity may have been compromised.

Glad you are doing better.

On the bike, if the insurance totalled the bike then let it be. Go get a new one. Why would you go through the hassle and the long wait time involved in repairing it? I would rather have the peace of mind that comes from riding something new.

yep, buy a new or low miles used one. It's not like it's a rare one of a kind or limited production bike.

Sorry, i wasn't following your previous thread. But why is your insurance paying for it?

Also, you needs to ask for more, insurance company do not go around offering people the best settlements, you need for fight for it. Just pull a few ads from the web to show the used 1199S replacement market value is $18000+ Plus, they should be paying your gear as well, helmet, boots, jacket.

Glad your healing up.

Like the others mentioned I'd buy something new/used. You will always wonder if something is tweaked on the bike if you get it fixed.

Glad you're doing better.
Go on cycle trader or some other site and find 3 or 4 of the most expensive ones for sale and copy and send to the insurance company. Did that for my last bike that got wrecked and they paid me the average of what I sent them. Should be signiifcantly more than what they're offering.

Then buy a new one!
