US DESMO @ Barber next monday

Last session of the day for me, entering into turn right where you want to go, a 3"x8" chunk of pavement was sticking up in the air, it must have happened just before I got there as the red flag hadn't been thrown yet, that was bizarre.

Fifth and sixth sessions were most fun as huge chunk of riders had already left.

Had loads of fun.

BUmmer about running out of gas Phil, the pani is pretty thirsty on the track!
Did you see the desmosedici in advance, guy was a great rider and beautiful bike.

Weather was perfect and considering how dismal that sunday was (the poor nesba folks!)

Yes, I saw the Desmosedici, great bike and rider.

We left before the last session, I had enough at the point. Too bad I haven't seen you but I guess we'll have another opportunity soon.

great times / track / people!!!

was nice meeting you in person Chris!

incidents:
two riders of the advanced group grashed, but are okay.

i lost a screw on the shifter of my gilles sets, could make it back at the end of the session in 2nd gear.

ran off once, had to go straight in turn 5 once, did not drop it in the gravel.

ran out of gas (thought i filled up enough before) in the museum corner.

videos to follow...

What's on your tank?

if i got a dollar for every time i've been asked that ;)

fiberglass tank cover for protection, with bumps for passenger to hold on to.

the desmo in advance was one for the fastest riders out there, with nate kern.

there was a black D16 in intermediate, but he was not 100% up to par. he had good lean angles but slow corner speeds. you will see him in the vidz i will post later this week.

i am still pumped! or as i said at work today, it was a nice 2 weeks of vacation yesterday!!!!

Phil you're going to ECM at Deals in May? Craig (he was on the 848 yesterday)and me are going.

I heard them announce that over the PA as I was packing up. I was surprised at how bumpy some of the straights were. The back end of my bikes were chattering quite a bit. Roebling setup does not equal Barber setup!

Guess I will quit bitching about the bumps on the wide line through the last turn at Roebling :D

they actually completely ground the track surface over the winter. Apparently the indy cars(?) cause rough spots. It seemed a bit smoother to me from riding it several times last year. Turn one seems to have some damage (that's where the tar chunk came up.

Just back and had an absolute blast, I think I did six sessions. On the streetfighter, weather was perfect.

Finally met Phil, his bike looks really good in person. He enjoyed himself too I think but I'm guessing he'll write more.

I saw one other pani there never got a chance to talk to him. Also had a desmosedici and every other ducati made from 851 forward. 120 riders, and they had a waiting list too!

All the riders got a very nice event t-shirt as part of the deal.

I love barber, just a great facility.

Zves,

Are you the guy on the white SF and suit in the novice group? I have some video of you during the sessions.

Let me know.

yep that's me! One of my friends that was watching said, I stuck out like a sore thumb all white amidst mostly red bikes and black leathers!

I'll make sure to give you some of the footage I have ;-)

Here's a pic me and a few of my friends at the track day, I'm tall skinny go, almost no hair, glasses and white dainese.

Guy in front in the middle is Ducati NA rep, think his name is Rolando, his tent was next to ours.

Phil,

Your videos are very nice. Can you send a pics where you have the 2 GoPro mounted? I'm kind of curios on the front mount.

Thanks a bunch.
