This is one of three annual rallies US Desmo club has. Sept 13-15 we have the annual rally (I think this is the 17th annual DFS rally).

We generally have about 60-80 riders mostly ducatis, some other euro bikes and a few japanese bikes. We'll be in Murphy which is just over the GA border in NC about 25 miles from Hiawassee.

I hope some of you guys near can make it. Great food, neat bikes, magnificent roads. THe Saturday ride encompasses some of the nicest roads you could want. CharlieM90 and maybe Phil are going.

so trailer up and ride. BUT, keep in mind CharlieM90 (and he's an old guy like me!) rode his pani up and back to the mt. airy rally earlier this year and that was around 7 hrs!

Holy crap, 6 hour ride...

The problem is, I'd need a mileage pass and that isn't a 4-day weekend :(.

bummer, well I'll think about you and lament the fact that I'm riding on some magnificent roads and you aren't ;) (course the weather has been absolute crap this summer so who knows it may pour rain!)

Oh puh-leez.

I do 6 hours on my sunday morning rides up to N.GA. 6 hours is a backbreaker for you?

Kids these days...

Clearly you missed the concern, MILEAGE PASS.

350 miles + = 3 day pass, 450 miles + = 4 day pass

Yeah, I don't have the same privileges you do.

I did see that in your subsequent post.

But we should note for the record here that your *first* post regarding the matter at hand was a somewhat negative reference to how long a ride it would be. :p

I'll be honest tho, I rode mine last year to deals gap about 4.5 hrs for the weekend, ended up doing about 1k miles the weekend and it liked to killed me!! ;)

well, don't ask dennis / AntiHero what a long ride is.

i have to say, i was dead after my Indy MotoGP roundtrip last year. and that was mainly straights / interstates highways...

is that the same weekend then as the "panigales / panigali at the dragon"??? guess so. 10th and then 13th... might do 2 single trips.

Phil the ducs fly south is in sept. the panis get together is oct.

I'll admit that I figured out early this year that a little attention to some informal endurance building (3mi/day walk-jog) would pay some dividends in enjoyment for this old guy.

But even with that, I just don't get tired on the Pani like I do with other bikes.

I agree...I can do 500+ miles on this bike and still function..any other Sport Bike in my past and I would've been basically crippled for maybe 3 hours after that...

it's really odd, because I could ride my rsv4 for hours and hours on end with no issues.

trying to get back on topic, I hope some of you guys can make ducs fly south!
