Anyone has considered installing a 1299 engine in a V2?
Almost the same power of the V4 with V2 torque.
V4 electronics.
Problably would need a 200/60 tire;

Can be done. Bolt in and re-tune. the 180/60 would make for a quick turning bike. Thou S Wheels a plentiful.

If you really want something gangsta, then swap motor with one of the WSBK engines form Codex Motorsports in UK. swap and tune on v2 would still be cheaper than a R.

@jarelj put a 1199R engine in a 899 a while back

But V2 engine swap would be a much more interesting project given the electronics etc.

...or a simple V2 fairing swap over to a 1299

Rode the V4S 10 laps at Interlagos.. Very nice, fast and easy bike, problably the best I ever rode. But lacks the torque and turn exit acceleration of a 1299... V2 as is is a updated 959. Hope Ducati will have a powerfull V2 again..

Yes that was a fun project! I think the bottom line is the shorter wheelbase with more power makes the bike less stable and lap times are harder to turn. It was FUN, but I'd probably never do it again, a balanced platform is easier to run quick times on.

What about a v2 project track//race project ?

I'm sure we'll have something going with a V2, just don't have any extra bikes right now, V2's are a hot commodity!

This is good news! I hope Ducati sell every v2 they make so that they won't consider letting go of the vtwin superbike all together
