V4 as a daily bike?

You could do a demo ride and decide based on first hand experience. I demo'd one on track and quickly realized I had to have it for the track, but had absolutely zero interest in riding street with it. So I recently picked mine up and am doing a few minor things getting it ready for track only duty. I have other bikes I prefer for street duty. YMMV.

I would not want to commute on this bike. It is geared pretty high and runs hot. The bike is capable of commuting, just not great for the rider. If I had to commute on a bike, then for sure I would go with my KTM adventure bike. Geared lower and pretty comfy. Also a lot better view of traffic.

Thanks for all this very good advise. It won't be my only bike. Most the time I commute on my StreetGlide. I did club racing for 4 years on my R1 and got that out of my system. It's just been a bucket list item to have a Ducati and maybe commute a couple times a week on it. For me it's like buying a Ferrari but I can't afford one of those.

And I agree every enthusiast has got to own at least one Ducati in their life time.

I daily mine, it's my only form of transportation. I feel like mine is some kind of anomaly because I've never had any kind of heat problems. It can get super toasty when the bike is hot and I go to put a foot down at a stop since it puts my leg right up near the exhaust, but I don't really understand how people are getting burns and whatnot on their thighs. Mine produces almost no heat anywhere on my body when I'm in a riding position, it's all directed down/out. I've been at max temperature in traffic and not even noticed how hot the bike was until coming to a stop and putting my feet down. I mostly wear military trousers or jeans, neither of which are particularly thick.

I did notice more heat making its way to me after the cooling system recall, I think it directs air a little closer to the rider, but still nothing too crazy.

Haha I just fell into that trap. Sold my Tuono RF and got the V4S.

Tried commuting through Houston on 59 yesterday and couldn't believe the heat of the chassis and tank when trying to grip the bike with the legs.

I miss the Torque, I have to be in third on the Ducati to match the Tuono roll on torque.

Daily rider, I need to vist your tailor Thorny.

The Panigale V4 is geared to the moon at 16/41. I went down one tooth in the front and it's better. I am guessing that the Tuono is probably geared lower.

If it was me, Id get a cheap japanese 4 for the commute which will be better in just about every way and wear that out. Save the V4 for weekends
