Proper comparison is 1199 vs V41299 wasn't a first year bike really.. It was a slight displacement bump to the then current model 1199. Apples/Oranges to a degree.

I guess my patience to get one in 2 years will pay off
So sorry to hear Bradoshi. Hope it gets resolved soon.Evening all,
Sorry for the delayed reply I have been away for a few days.
Just to be clear the bike was properly run in as per the Ducati manual. At the time of the latest failure it had done about 3500km...
As an update unfortunately the bike is still in the workshop..... (its spend over 6 weeks there since i took delivery).
For some reason despite the misfire rendering it unridable there are no error codes stored in the system. And because the Ducati techs over here are not much more than tyre fitters they are not up to the task of diagnosing the problem.
So what they are doing is taking it for a ride then downloading the riding logs, emailing them to Italy for review then waiting to see what the Italians say to try next.
Its been broken for over a week now and we are no further forward than the day it went wrong.
Is there a way for you to get the communications between the factory and the dealership over there, I'd be interested in looking at them for you to see if we could be of assistance.
As for not going straight to the track with these machines, we have broken a few in at the track and a few on the dyno, trust me when I say they can take it!

Ya I'm with u on this. I'm waiting for V4R to be unveiled.
Rumor has it, it’s coming at WDW. I assume it’ll hit production next Spring?

I may wait until "2nd Gen" R and see what special versions Ducati will make like FE R, SL, Demo RR?!?

C'mon... we're not a bunch of idiots around here that don't know a reed valve from a choke. Of course they're race bikes, just like my 959, but that doesn't mean I take it to the track just off the showroom floor and put the engine through the ringer.
What if I was to tell you that every single one of these bikes are put through the ringer in every gear for 12 minutes on a dyno before ever leaving the factory?
It's to bed the rings in not run the motor in
Same with mine,
I have a V4 Speciale
Nearly 4 months 600 miles. It has spent ~4 weeks of that, In the Ducati workshop.
1- Quick Shifter Replacement (2 weeks)
2- Counter-Shaft oil leaks (2 weeks)
3- Counter-Shaft Oil leak (2 time, going in again)
Not happy with this purchase...
