I installed the DucaBike clear clutch cover, pressure plate and retention ring all by myself cause I’m a big boy
Yes I’ve really been enjoying wrenching on this bike and I’d encourage everyone on here to buy a torque wrench and try doing it yourself, it’s quite rewarding

my lever was on the in most position as I have small hands. All wise fine until I installed the clutch components but now with the lever in, it won’t disengage all the way so I can’t shift through the gears. Anyone have experience with this?

I added some throw by adjusting the lever out and it works fine. Dealer said if I did something wrong the bike wouldn’t move

You might have to refer back to our mate campisi when he did the same thing on his v4?
Nice job doing it yourself tho. How long did it take?

Haha thanks! I did watch his vid but I found the Chase on 2 wheels 959 build series vid to be more informative for a hands on approach.

first time I buttoned it up, couldn’t squeeze the lever cause I made a mistake and didnt lock the teeth of the convex plate in with the pressure plate.

u should put one on ur bike, it’s such an exclusive accessory. everyone will know what’s up

When I did mine, after wiggling it a bit, it just fell into place. The way it kinda "popped" in, I knew it was right. Luck on the first go at it.

I installed mine last weekend and had no issues. Rode every day this week so far.

I do have big(long) hands though. Have not tried it with the adjusters at the shortest point

Can u try adjusting ur lever to the closest position to the handle bar and see if you’re able to run through the gears with clutch pulled as the bike idles?

17 minute mark.

yeah I know the rock it forwards and back trick, has to do that when my triumph was breaking in.
Mine would not allow shifter to move, it was locked cause the clutch wasn’t “pulled enough” wonder if yours from factory was fine even with clutch adjusted close.

Here’s another piece of info, my DQS would repeatedly lock me out of 3rd shifting from 2, and sometimes lock me out shifting down to 3rd from 4th. Today at my fabulous dealer, they said they reset my DQS so it could relearn and so far it’s been flawless. These bikes shift as smooth as PDK in a Porsche. I love this bike, I know was bitching abt it being slow when I first got it but now that I learned it needs to rev well beyond 10k... it’s probably faster than my 1299

thank you everyone for the replies!

I had the dealer install the clear clutch and beauty pieces on my 1299 cause I was very busy with work (scared to touch a wrench to it) and leaving their parking lot, I stalled like 5 times in front of everyone. How embarrassing. I blamed the clutch slave leaking air in for that one but it was probably a combination of both the DucaBike kit and clutch slave.

Clutch and brakes were just renewed with Motul DOT 5.1 today and the “problem” still exists so it’s not like I have a failing clutch slave

The washing machine door is definatly a cool mod. I thought you had to have access to a press (campisi video) in order to get the pressure plate installed.

Find the right size socket and smack it with a hammer a couple times. Just make sure u wait till 3am when everyone’s sleeping

press is the right way but anymore when I need new bushings in control arms, new control arms are cheap enough. I can’t justify taking up space in the garage
