V4 Fuel range

I am consistently at 80 miles when the light comes on. I haven't tested how far I can go before it actually runs out. I'm a bit disappointed with this (yes, I know it is a race bike). For some of the mountain riding I do, this doesn't get me to the next gas station. 120 miles would have been the ideal range.

My one test: light on at 100 miles, 20 additional miles ridden on the HWY in 6th gear @ 80ish, 3.9 gallons went back in. So 20 miles on the fuel light is about all I’d want to go, and have to ride easy once the light comes on.

while we’re on the topic, you guys all know that Shell V Power Nitro 93 oct is the right fuel for these bikes, right?

90 in the US minimum. Not 93.

For me it depends on how many stop-n-go's there are. Riding around my suburb and commuting the light comes on around the 80 mile mark.
Last weekend, out in the country, light came on around 95-98 miles. I rode it about 5 miles to the station and it took 3.24gal to fill. Basically had 1 full gallon left before empty

Last weekend I was averaging 34-37 MPG. These numbers come from actual fuel numbers not a computer. Total MPG for 4.7 gallons, you can work the numbers. My speeds were a mixture of highway and rural. Around 2200 miles on the clock.

In Australia we have 91, 95 & 98 which I believe are just a different scale to the US. As in our 95 is your 90 and our 98 is your 93.

That said I have a jesters slip on and t800 UpMap and was considering a custom tune. A tuner I talked to suggested the tune I have would be pretty close and to try running 95 in it.

This could be another thread so we don’t completely hijack this one?
