V4 Rebuild

Oh, for sure. That's has to be my biggest complaint about Ducati. Parts support and cost. Both Aprilia (AF1 Racing) and BMW (Alpha Racing)...and even Yamaha (GTYR) seem to have this sorted out.

this comes up all he time, that is a legal safety net for the OEM. So that in case a bizarro world consumer laps 1 sec off baustista buys one and blows up the engine because he rode it on limit only.
The R engine does have race internals so the OEM will attach a specified race service disclaimer, a stocker R1 does not have this but a GYTR R1 does.

The most polarizing version of this in recent times is the BMW HP4 RACE which called out a new engine was needed after 3000ks...

Rick is the fastest guy on here and 4500 miles on a V4R with oils changes and keeping a close eye on the bike no issues

Many thanks Karl 🙏 But, I reckon Bruce holds that cup 🤩

I'm probably going to have a refresh at 6k miles. Although, now I'm using the R as a wet bike, it doesn't have the same force/wear as in the dry, so maybe I'll just run it until it gives up. When I hit 6k, I'll have saved approx £17k in rebuilds, so £10k for a new motor is OK.
Yep, a set of exhaust valves, alone, is £3,600.
The 1103 service schedule is far more reasonable. £4k refresh at 6k miles.
