V4 Speciale

I just dont see the value in a speciale. You can get everything on the bike that you get on the v4s, and with the v4s you can make the bike yours instead of a ducati performance parts special. The paintjob is awesome though.

I dont think the V4R is a good cross shop. That's a track bike made to live at the top end of the powerband. The v4 has a bigger motor and more midrange torque.

Greetings you guys and gals. Got some disturbing info after finally getting a dealer to respond with details on the Speciale. I thought the bike shipped from the factory w/ the Akro installed and flashed and that was part of why it was exclusive, but not only does it NOT ship w/ the full akro installed, the dealer also wants to charge a fee to install it on the bike.

I have watched several videos on the install process of the full akro, and it's pretty intense (taking the subframe off and more) so, I only assume the dealer will want a pretty penny for this as well.

Is it worth it? Is there a difference any major besides the decal kit & triple clamp serno from the V4s beside a 12k higher price tag? Couldn't i save the price diff, buy a full system, install it myself and us the rest for some race fairings and track the bike :confused:confused::confused::confused::D:cool:>?

Please post up opinions (and be gentle its my first v4 post ;).

Late to the game here, but here in the SF Bay Area, I paid about $2300 extra to install the Akra'.. 13 hours of labor isn't free..

As for whether to get an S or a Speciale... for me to get the S, with the Akra, all the extra's that the Speciale comes with would been just south of $36K.. so why not just pay the extra $4K and get a serial numbered bike with the far better pain job? (btw, 1500 not in 2019, but in 2018/2019).. I run the Speciale Club on FB, if u get one, hit me up for an invite.
