I been looking everywhere for this answer, but essentially as we know the V4R is fitted with a dry clutch. Is it possible to reverse the clutch to a wet clutch buying the proper clutch packs. And have it be a wet clutch transmission for better dependability for the street, & then switch it back to dry clutch for track use.
I get the dry clutch is there for race use . But for us that will do a lot of street miles in the bike I’m wondering if possible.

You would need to find the standard clutch housing that allows the oil to flow into the clutch area. Dry clutch housing has a seal that keeps the oil out. There is a V4 dry clutch conversion install video on YouTube. Give it a watch you would be doing the opposite, but it will give you a clear idea of the process involved

If I were doing what you want to do I would find out if there is a standard pressure plate that will work with your basket and hub. If not I would have one made. Use it on the street (dry) where the only thing the clutch is used for is low gear and downshifts, and swap in the slipper when it went to the track. No pulling half the bike apart to swap and yer oil filter and pump will stay happy too

*it would also ensure that your clutch gets inspected after every track day. Which isn’t a bad idea anyways : )

Yea you can do this. I have a v4s that had the dry clutch installed as a dealer option. I have the original wet clutch system in my garage. Ordering the v4 or v4s clutch housing, plates, and other associated parts should do the trick. I am actually considering throwing the wet back in since the dry clutch is louder than the Akra exhaust at idle. It’s annoying sometimes.

I understand your frustration gentleman. By next weekend I will have drawings and shortly thereafter I’ll have someone making what you need to remedy this simple problem

No need to buy all that crap and spend hours switching back and forth. You won’t even have to pull a fairing or drain the oil if you don’t want to. And you will surely be able to hear your Akra idling at a light in neutral : )

On it...

Whats wrong with Dry clutches, keeps oil contamination low, rattles, blows clutch dust over everything, aurally stimulating, need frequent replacment, which for a man of your obvious wealth should not be a concideration?? Ducati road bikes all used aircooled clutches untill the clean-hands enviotonmentaly-responsible started buying them recently
Only problem is rate of wear
go for Aircooled 48 spline basket when you hsave to replace, look at STM? THEN BATTERING WEAR DEVELOPES SLOWLY. pull clutch lever in when at lights, rather than nuetral, or go buy a jap bike. Expensive ? grab used clutch plates from a race team still like new, last a huge amount on a road bike?
.... cant believe it, I give you 3X GXRs so you dont .... your bike up?

Yeah plus the constant maintenance of dry clutch.

For the mean time anyone have the DP performance Carbon dry clutch cover?

The clutch does not require constant maintenance because it’s a dry design

Being a slipper every time you decelerate it is slightly disengaging the clutch and letting it slip. Not just on downshift’s but on decel period. I am off to meet with someone now to see what can be done. Have some ideas : )

I was just down at Newport Duc looking at how the STK works never held one disassembled in my hands before. My idea is doable. The owner knows me and my background and is going to try to get me one to ‘borrow’ for measurements n drawings. He is fully aware that it’s $800 every 3k miles as is and is as eager to see how this is gonna work as you are

Yep, put one on a couple of days ago, but haven’t ridden it yet. Misses thought something was wrong with the bike based on how it sounded after, and am taking that as a good sign [emoji1360]
