I dunno man, my instincts are pretty good at spotting talent, and my Spidey senses tell me this guy is a bit of a savant in limited areas. I think he has an obsession with perfection, and and ego that says “I can make this better” with just enough racing pedigree to potentially build something cool.

He may also be the kind of guy that can’t get out of his own way, and not have any clue on how to monetize what he’s doing, or even care if he does. So we may never know if he’s got a narrow band of genius or see anything out of it useful to us.

But my spidey sense tells me there is something there. Something epic or earth shattering probably not, but I think the guy has enough talent and ego and pride in himself to probably build a few cool engines.

Plenty of talented people out there that do really cool stuff within their narrow bandwidth that never turn it into anything, but that doesn’t make their work any less cool or good.

Might be wrong, but I’m curious enough to keep an eye on him and see where it goes.

I also don’t think it would be that hard to get 238 to the wheels on these bikes if you are willing to put in the work and attention to detail.

Dyno plot? Lap time? Time slip?

Bueller? 🤷‍♂️

We’ll see I guess…as an aside, I’m not vouching for the guy, I’m just saying that I feel like there’s enough meat on the bone in the guys background to keep an eye on him, he might come up with something useful…you guys .... on Deussen a bit when he 1st showed up, and he’s proven to be a helpful contributor lol

Not everything new is bad just because it’s new haha

All this HP talk seems a bit wonky. Every year we hear these numbers (factory) then some guy dyno’s the bike and we get the real story.

Seems 200HP has been around for ever out of a 1k cc motor (wheel). Then we have the SBK engines that put out these magical numbers that everyone gawks at and now we have the new V4 at 240 with the pipe? No we don’t.

I’d bet money that off the showroom floor the 23 V4R with the 7k (....... ridiculous ) pipe isn’t going to show us anywhere near that number so where do the SBK motors get this amazing additional hp? Gas? Electronics? Top end work (what’s allowed)?

I think some guy did a 1299SL vs a V4SL and weren’t they within a couple of HP? Lotta hype in the advertising numbers, just don’t see them showing up on the Dyno. Just engineer a super charger into the damn thing already.

Can you quote a post of mine shitting on @DeussenEngines ?

Also, v4 extreme has been making claims for over 6 months, and there isn’t one piece of objective data - not one dyno plot or lap time or time slip to backup the claim?

Not one?

And without it, we can’t even begin to consider the next logical question:

“Ok, it makes 265 hp to the tire. Very impressive… for how long? How long between rebuilds - 100 miles… 1000 miles… 10,000 miles?”

The Ducati maintenance schedule for rebuilds for the stock motor under “race” conditions is something like 3000 miles.

Agreed to all, I’m jus sayin I’m curious enough to keep an eye on him because of his pedigree.

On a side note to Endo’s point, I think there’s a reason we are seeing HP hover around where it is for so long, at some points the physics of so much power have reached the limits of what a mortal can manage and if you manage it using electronic Nannie’s you are cutting the power you spent money to develop.

You'd be surprised how quickly you adapt...
