I am thinking of selling. Love the bike, but just for financial reasons wife and I may be giving up the hobby. I have a 2012 Tri, only upgrades are race seat and rizoma pegs. Showroom condition, about 3000 miles on it. How much do you think it is worth on private market?

I'm sure I'm upside down on it as I financed the entire thing, so looking for a good target to pay it down to before selling in the spring. So if you can let me know what they are going for in your area, that would be helpful.

$23000....

Personally, I find it hard to get a definitive nor accurate figure as there are a fair few variables at play. The value of anything is what the market is prepared to pay.

If the question were how do I get the best deal on my bike then some general guidelines are:

- Depends on how much time and effort you want to put into the sales process.
- Depends how many competitive bids you can attract.
- Sell it when there is max demand (i.e. in Summer).
- Return the bike to stock.
- Part of your mods separately.
- Contact your local Ducati Owners Club group, take your bike down there and get the word out through the community.

Worse way to sell:

- Winter.
- On a forum like this.
- Be in a hurry.

trust this helps.

As someone who has been looking hard at purchasing a Tri I would esmirna in terms of pricing. Why so low? There seem to be quite a few people looking to part with 2013 around the $23k handle, all subject to location timing, etc.

I said low $19000 if you want to get it sold fast and because that is the price of a 1199s used

Hey Mark....I think we should change your user name to Grim Reaper...:p

nah dude i just got a new helmet (love the fit shoei x-12 can you guess the graphic?) ordered a new windscreen for the 1199 and waiting on the crg carbon fiber levers. i have a new outlook for the bike. everything that could go wrong on it has. so it cant get worse only better. The hp4 is getting closer (although the R1 is very tempting at the price point) 2 great bikes in a growing stable (either R1 or HP4). I may even consider a harley as a third. ok maybe reaching a little on that one :D

Why not the RF1200....Transitions and all???

I just bought the RF1200 great helmet. I bought it for my daily street riding. Compact, Good vision, good air flow and quiet. The transition shields are not out yet. It supposed to be release in January. Unless anyone knows different please let me know.
