Why not the RF1200....Transitions and all???

i ordered the transition shield for the x12. i had the rf series before never liked them i like the tight racing fit and of course the MM graphic isnt on the rf1200

I just bought the RF1200 great helmet. I bought it for my daily street riding. Compact, Good vision, good air flow and quiet. The transition shields are not out yet. It supposed to be release in January. Unless anyone knows different please let me know.

this is accurate as i had to order the transition

most aftermarket stuff you do not recoup your investment for. as cali said if you have a heavily moded bike take the stuff off and sell it separately to get maximum value. i know my stealership wold take my bike say we cant do anything for you with those mods (not counting termi exhaust) then take your bike and put it as is on the floor for a few more thousand and you get nothing. privately you could sell it if you hold out but if you need the money return to stock is the best bet.

To the seller its 10k of stuff that was bought but to the buyer its an additional expense. if he wanted an expense he would buy new. he is trying to get a deal. also remember a lot of guys pay cash for this stuff so its actually cheaper to buy new and finance it at a nice cheap rate than to come out of pocket 20k. once that money is spent its gone. so if i get a deal on something say 15k then ill take out the cash but if i am going to spend the same money anyway ill take the loan (cheap money) and finance it and make the 25k work for me. write a few option contracts generate premium which pays for the bike. i cant do anything with an empty bank account.

Just a different way to look at buying things without having to spend your money.

for example lets say for a moment i have 30k. i can buy a 1000 shares of a 30 stock and turn around and write covered calls 3 months out for .50 premium (maybe 1 but lets call it .50) thats 1500 quaterly. thats 6k for the year if you dont get called out. if you do you make the money on the stock. so that 30 grand really cost you 24000 as you made 6k from it. i cant do the initial transaction if i just plunked 25k down on a used bike. yes i know you can get a loan and all that i am just giving you an example of how a bird in hand is worth more than 2 in a bush.

disclaimer option trading is risky and does not guarantee results. it can also result in loss of initial investment. I was just giving an example and i do not suggest doing it unless you know what you are doing.

Thanks a lot Mark, I just lost my SL money because of you. Now I have to buy a Hayabusa.

Don't forget you still have to beat the interest rate you are paying for that loan.

Would love to pick up your tri, but way out of my second bike budget.

I am more in the base budget, maybe push to (a) an S if the price is right.

yes you do but its not hard to get 0 or 1 % rate. dont tell me you guys are paying 7.99 for a loan. transfer that right out if you are

The hp4 is getting closer (although the R1 is very tempting at the price point) 2 great bikes in a growing stable (either R1 or HP4).

Go with the HP4. I had a R1 for 2 years and traded it in for a S1000RR. After owning a 1199 the R1 will highly disappoint you. It's heavy and slow.

+1 I had an R1 and it will seem like a 750 after riding the 1199 and HP4. More Top heavy than the BMW. But the sound of the R1 is better than the HP4 for inline 4s. The R1 is a pig and need to lose some weight.

How is it not hard to get 0 or 1%? Is it a USA thing?

every credit card company is offering these teaser rates. not hard to move a balance around for free money. it will cost you 100 bucks or so for 18 months of interest free. just be smart about it dont be late and its simple. unless you just have that coin laying around and want to plunk it down all at once. here is an example lets say you have the cash for an R. thats 30k. instead of plunking down 30 k you buy MO which is altria. at the time of my example it was 34. so instead of buying the r you take a loan for it. with the cash you buy 1000 MO at 34. sell the 36 calls 3 months out, you get .50 thats 500 bucks right there. MO also pays a quarterly div of .44 cents. (lets say 50 cents for math purposes). now you just made 1000 bucks. for the 3 month period (premium and div). the stock happened to go up to 38. well you sold the 36 calls so you will be selling it at 36. thats 2000 in stock appreciation. plus the 1000 for premium and div. thats 3k in a 3 month time frame. its also 10% return.

not to bad if you ask me or you could plunk the money down not have a payment but not had the investment either.

i can talk trading strategies all day but all i am trying to say is there is plenty of ways to generate income while making a purchase. as long as interest rates are cheap to me its free money. im going to take it.
