2012 1199s currently with 3500 miles.
All recalls and TSBs except latest ECU.
Starter replaced @ 2k miles.
Exhaust shield hardware falls out a lot.
Clutch bleed every track day.

2012 Model ABS
New Dashboard at 1200 miles
New Clutch Slave Cylinder at 1300 miles
New Engine at 3975 miles- due to melting cylinder liners
New forks at 5800 miles

Fingers crossed

2013 s/ABS... Oil leak vertical cylinder valve cover, coolant leak ((bad hose), and TSB 881 harness added, all in 2013. In 2014, newer style exhaust shield replaced due to foil falling out from inside of shield and rubber mounts cooked to disintegration allowing it to rattle around. Spacer replaced in slave cylinder to (hopefully) prevent the 1000 mile clutch bleeds. And of course a new dash due to melting... ALL covered under warranty... Thank you Ducati...

Early 2012S with 15,500 kms. TSB881. New input and out put transmission shafts along with a few other parts in the tranny. Had the hard finding Neutral problem so dealer opened up the tranny to see what's going on after replacement of MC and Slave cylinder didn't help. They also put new piston rings in since they had the engine apart, and now it has a high idle issue. Bike has been at the dealer for 8 ....... months. They didn't start to work on it till April. Fml.

Well there's an intentional way to .... you out of the remainder of your warranty. "Let's make sure this high mileage owner has minimal time of warranty left so let's take our sweet time repairing his bike"

^^ yup warranty expired May 29th. Open work order they have to cover it, and whatever parts have been replaced I'm sure are under warranty for a year. But with the 2 months lost in riding, I lost to potential for anything else going wrong. Fml if it wasn't the best bike I've owned so far I'd be more pissed.

Will be selling it and looking for a new one as soon as it comes out.

Let me see....

1199R - MY2013

- Clutch reservoir wich caused the the screen to be replaced as well the tank

- Dash - reason: Burned by the sun, fogging and some dead pixels

- front rim stickers (flown away, speed? LOL don't think so).

1199R 2013 7500 miles/12070 km (just had 7500 mile service)

I've had the bike for exactly one year:

  • very minor oil leak from seal around sensor on rear of engine block
  • the common problem with air in clutch hydraulic fluid (after frequent bleeding we are trying a higher spec brake fluid with a higher boiling point)
  • gear position sensor recalibration

(All covered under warranty)

Of the 7500 miles about 3000 are track, the rest a mix of urban and open road. It has been perfectly reliable--and an insidiously seductive delight of a beast to ride.

12,000 miles on my '12 1199 base.

Only work done so far was TSB 881.

No hydraulic probs, no oil burning issues, no fueling issues, no leaking, no burnt fairings, no anything. Evidently I got one that was built on tues-wed-thurs. :)

2013 R with 4000 miles

Warrantee claims

1) DP tail tidy cracked through replaced with new design.
2) Clocks changed due to fogging and melted surround near TC light. New clocks perfect (but that could be due to the purchase of a dehumidifier in the garage keeping things below 50% RH)

Niggles

1) Couple of loose screws due to no loctite fixed with blue loctite no more issues.
2) Air entering clutch line via master cylinder needed regular bleeding. Fixed by putting max fluid in reservoir and excluding as much air as possible from under membrane. No more issues.
3) Creaking clutch pushrod when bike was hot. Cleaned and lubed by dealer FOC. No more issues.

Ducati Glasgow's support second to none.

Mine is in right now getting a new engine under warranty. Forward head leaking oil out of a coolant weap hole with 1100 miles in it.
