I have a v2 2020. It had 3000 km on it and then the waterpump started to leak. Dealership replaced it with a new one and now at 4500 km I noticed that it is leaking again.

My guess is that they really didn’t change the pump. Does it look like the actually removed the engine case cover? Look at the adhesive at the case seam. Does it look uniform to the rest of the case seals or does it look like it has been re sealed. Dealerships and repair shops are notorious for this. Hard to believe you would have two pump shaft seals go bad in that period of time on the same bike.

The pump has an inner shaft seal and an outer shaft seal. The hole leaks when the space between the seals is compromised. Best case scenario is you leak coolant externally (back seal out the hole). Worst case is you loose an outer shaft seal and leak water into the oil.

the water pump has definitely been replaced. 100% sure. I saw tho old one and you could see new seal on the engine case.

Bummer, I have 20k miles on one, never had an issue. Only issues I’ve seen we’re from over temp. Maybe they had a bad batch.

My water pump was just found to be leaking badly from the weep hole and replaced.
2019 V4 base model, 2,800 track miles, with a few instances of brief 5-bar temps rolling into the pits after hot sessions.
No biggie, stuff happens.

back to the dealer -again-for another warranty replacement.Surprised they did not quote the internal ducati technical service bulliten about how its designed to leak (maybe waiting till its out of warranty to tell you that one)
