Mine I named Bella, my r1200rt, Gertrude. Gertrude is like the girl next door type. She's pretty but nothing off the hook. She's comfy and can be a little spirited, like she works out but not consistently but I good health overall.

Bella on the other hand, is like a supermodel that does crossfit everyday and is an absolutely stunningly beautiful woman and can really take you for a ride!
 
When i get razzled at for the heat issue,the price, the other stuff thats negative, i call mine, "2012 Superbike of the Year" is that what you ride? and i don't care about BMW either.

I called my first one MY REDHEADED ITALIAN SUPER MODEL .....!!!
And she totally lived up to that name. My PS I call Jewel and she definitely has been. But being a true poser I normally just say Duc. Hearing them referred to as Dukes tends to annoy me cause I use that for KTM's. The other Italian bird is the Goose , Moto Guzzi. Nothing wrong with a bird as I thought that's also a name for a pretty Chic.....whoops another bird.
 
Can't call it a Duke as KTM already uses that name. Always been a Duc to me but my wife( lovely as she is) calls it my Italian Mistress
 
Always a "Duke" ... except when comparing it to a Moto Guzzi, in which case it's a "Duck" and a "Goose". That's the only time when the pure self-amusement factor prevails and calling it a duck is actually chuckle-worthy enough that it's okay.

Mind you, I also used to own a KTM Duke II, which complicates things somewhat :/
 
I call it motorcycle heaven!

I never really understood Duc other than just a short version and Duke reminds me of KTM. Italian mistress is good!
 
If anyone asks they get the following question:

Do you know anything about bikes?

If no, answer is Ducati
If yes, answer is Duc 1199R
 
Just "The Pani." I've never been inspired to name any of my cars or bikes.
 
Duc or Ducati and sometimes by model if I need to differentiate...
in short, the best SBK to call your own :D
