What do you guys do for winterization?

open it up, get some RS cams in, slam a SBK pipe on it, spend some time on the dyno, put on the BLIP system... AND THEN WAIT FOR BL..DY WINTER TO GO OVER.... :) ....

Do you know why the dealer suggested to drain the hypermotard? They said it's because its a plastic tank. But would it matter if it's stored in a heated/moisture controlled basement?

Really appreciate the feedbacks :)

The plastic tanks can expand because of the ethanol. Instead of draining use the STA-BIL® Ethanol Fuel Treatment and Stabilizer and you will be fine. ;)

Wow,

I feel neglectful. I didn't do squat, but put a cover over her and hit the battery tender once in awhile. I didn't even put stabil in her (as I have with all the other bikes). I know I didn't top up the tank (no need to worry about alum rusting). Kick me! Lol. We shall see what the spring thaw brings.

Nah, don't feel too bad. I did the same for mine and did the same last year too. No problems, no worries. Started like a champ.

I don't really get the whole winterization thing, seems over kill to me. I ride it up until december, and by march/april I will be taking it out. They sit in show rooms for a long time and the dealers don't " winterize them. "

I do the same to all 5 of the bikes.. all on front and rear stands little bit of stabil in the tank.. all bikes on a Ctek battery tender except the R6 I take the alien motion battey out put covers on them all and walk away.. start them up and run them for a 20 mins every month. run them through the gears.
cant typically ride here (or im not willing) from about late November till march
