if the model had a angle sensor it could be that too . not sure what bikes had what stuff though

Nope, you're all wrong

It's a 12 VDC to 5 VDC regulator. It was part of an early recall (left handlebar/blinker issue) and it came together with a small wiring harness.

Me neither. My 12 1199 didn't have it and for the blinker recall was just a cable harness that was added.

Thats because it goes on the 1199 not the 1189 that you had.

Maybe only on EU bikes? I still have it installed on my Tri.

I can confirm it is part of the recall.

I thought it was a part of my alarm and did not hook it up when I put my track bodywork on. Didn't look stock(it's not) so I made an assumption.

All kinds of error codes and my left control buttons stopped working.

Hooked it up and all is well.

Yep, that was installed as part of the recall for left turn signal switch. I had that installed on mine for that purpose by the dealer too.
