Tire deformed suddenly

So I was chatting with a buddy at work and showed him my pictures and guess what y’all???

He had the same thing happen on a five year old super Corsa just like mine!

Same scenario….bubble came out over the course of about two football fields. Inside cables pulled out just like mine

ya no doubt! still cant beleive i was riding on a 6yr tire and didnt realize it...I always check that .... too...just too excited on my new ride i guess...lesson learned.

I changed my 11 year old Supercorsa set this summer. The wheels had been sitting on a shelf for a while and that was my only spares after finishing my project 1199. So while I was waiting for the new set to be delivered I went on 3 trips where I thoroughly tested out the bike. Nothing happened but I was very uneasy about it bursting out on me.
And now that I am seeing the look of yours I will never take that risk again.
