Slicks on the Road, Pros and Cons?

I saw a video where MW straight stuffed a dude who crashed while on a dragon run. Avoid him like the plague. Never under any circumstance ride with or around someone who has something to prove.

He’s crashed multiple times on the Dragon. Whenever the wife and I are down there and see him, we get as far away as possible.

Basically what you said. I have had friends do it before without issue. I would think this is better in the heat of summer. What part of Texas are you in? I'm in Wichita Falls.

Same here, several riding buddies have run their track slicks on the road without any issue. I'm in Anna, north of the DFW metroplex.

I don't get all the hating on Max Wrist, he's got more talent than I do, his videos with Ant Aprilia are the most entertaining on Youtube by a country mile IMHO, I absolutely hate watching videos of someone putting in laps around a short circuit, boring, should I hate on Max also? Just saying....

The issue with Max is his endangering other riders. Check out the video of him on the Tail where he tried to do the “Max Pass” on a couple on a bike. He is all about getting content for his Chanel regardless of who might get hurt.

He was ran off of Blood Mountain in GA, was told he wasn’t welcome at DGMR and Killboy’s on the Tail.

JR (Antprilla), is a much smoother rider than Maxi Pad. And he doesn’t put others in unsafe situations just to get “content”.

John, how old are you– 17? Because it sounds like you've only been riding for five minutes.
I'll put it more bluntly, Max Wrist action is alive because of good luck rather than skill. His videos are a great education if you want to learn what not to do if you want to stay alive. Seriously, what's the point of asking a question about using slicks on the road when you already have the answer?

Slicks on the road, pros and cons?

Cons - as discussed, many.

Pros - none.

Whatever you do, don’t listen to any of these haters. Ignore all reasonable advice and do what you want to do - run slicks on the road to boost your ego.

Remember to push really hard or they won’t be in their operating temp window. This will allow you to run a section of twisty road a second or two faster than you would on DOT’s (that lap COTA within a few seconds of slicks), with the added bonus of endangering yourself and anyone around you because you’re that much closer to the limit - YOLO!

Oh, make sure you video for the gram - nothing more important than those likes. 👍
