What Lever Guards Ya Got?

With that said...I'll never be using the Bridgestone RS10s again. This is what th rear looked like after one day (64 laps).

Did you make any suspension changes? Did you alter the geometry? Did you play with various air psi settings? Using warmers? What were track/ambient conditions?

You (read: anybody) can't throw on different tires, make NO changes, and expect to get optimal performance and/or life out of them.

Nope. Still need to setup my suspension for me (suspension guy wasn't there that day). I'm happy with the wear but after about 20 mins into the session the rear got pretty slippery and the DTC stayed busy. I've had 003s on my old track R6 (Ohlins front/rear, set up for my weight) and they wore fairly quickly as well so I can't say I'm too surprised they wore out that fast. The front felt locked all day, though. Gonna try Q3s next.

Just changed out to the Ducabike Brake Guard.. Very nice and so far pretty good.

I just have the basic Rizoma Proguards (not the expensive "race" version). 90% of the reason they're there is just because they look cool and I get to explain to people who have never seen lever guards about how they make it safer for me at the track (10% of the reason I bought them).

But I'll freely admit that having lever guards, for me, is motivated primarily by appearance.

I like their appearance too. While I only do 1-3 track days a year I bought mine primarily to potentially save the master cylinder in an off, street or track. But it is a good conversation starter for those who don't know about them.
