I keep seeing the power figures quoted, but I can't seem to find out what the actual redline/rev limit is. 11,000 rpm? 11,500? I know peak HP is produced at 10,500.

Anyone who knows?

Cheers and thanks.

10500 I believe.
But I have seen dynos that seem to stop at 11k rpm. It seems hard to find out, because my dealer can't tell me and a Google search keeps showing peak power@ figures, ... The three dynos I have seen, indicate 11k rpm, but I can't fins a definitive answer.

Cheers and thanks.

I'll let you know after a few days of when mine gets here (right after the pesky break in period is over).

:)

OK.. The Cycle News review says the rev limiter kicks in at 11,500 rpm..!! That's higher than I thought.

Answered my own question. :D

Stinkin' bastiges.. My ancestors SPIT on your haircut... :D

Seriously, do a long write-up when you get back please... I need a "fix" to get me to next Thursday...

Ill have mine on the dyno almost immediately and we will see exactly where it stops making power and where redline is. I typically set the shift light at the exact HP peak. Then I know I have some overrev if I need to utilize it to finish out a straightaway.

Anyone update this topic?
Mine seems reluctant to get to about 10-10.5k never mind hit the limiter in 5th & 6th!?

Is the limiter 10.5? 11? 11.5?

Does it need more miles?! (1300 currently) I don't push it above 10k normally as no need but curious as to why it won't!

The 1199's redline is at 11 500 rpm and I suppose the 1299 would be the same.

don't the R models go to 12500? In any case, my answer is "too soon" :p

I've hit the rev limiter several times; I need to really learn when to shift because there isn't much time between the shift light and that BRICK WALL of a fuel cut rev limiter.

The R does go 1000 RPM more than the standard model due to the titanium con rods .
I rarely hit the limiter on my bikes and tend to shift before the limiter .

If it that much of a concern, why not just leave it in 1st gear, leave the thro pinned and see where it hits the limiter?

I don't know why there is even a question or debate. Just go ride it and see.

My question is more around my bike, as in it won't Rev out in 6th gear! I don't even get to see the first shift light. Wonder if it just needs to loosen up a bit more or I have an issue. Just coming from an 1198 which would have no prob hitting the limiter in 6th.
I had guessed the limiter was about 11 or 11.5k (I'm a Pani noob!) :)
