On my Diavel there is a two wire connection plug that can be used as a power supply for a GPS/navigation device. Easy.
Through extensive web searching and on this forum it seems that the 1299 also has a connection. Now, depending on what source you refer to, it’s a four wire plug tucked away under the windscreen OR another plug tucked under the black cover below the clutch lever, behind the left upper fairing.
I’ve found both. They’re both capped but unlabelled. The second one has three wires; white, green and yellow/black. The first one with four wires has green/black, black, red/black and grey/green.
Testing both with a multimeter I get nothing from the four wire plug, and 10.8v from the three wire plug - yellow/black seems to be negative and white is positive. Connecting my GPS to the three wire plug seems to supply no power to the GPS however. It’s not my connecting lead or the GPS itself as it works fine off the battery.
So my questions are
Have I found the right connection?
Which one is it - three wire or four wire plug or another connector I’ve still to find?
Does anyone know the correct wiring? The wiring diagram doesn’t seem to show these.
.
I’ve connected to the battery instead which is fine, but this is bugging me and I’m on a mission now!
Cheers
Steve
