Where is the 2013 Ducati 799?

I expected Ducati to take the wraps off the highly rumored Ducati 799, but no sign of the smaller Panigale at the EICMA show in Milan.

In the past, Ducati has given the outgoing model some royal treatment, and it's not uncommon to see one year of overlap with the outgoing model and the incoming new model. The 848 shines with the new 2013 evo Corse SE version, but why nothing on the new 799?

Do you think we'll see the Ducati 799 in 2013 or 2014?
 
Remember when the 1098 came out there was NO smaller Superbike at all for the first year! That really sucked. This time we still have the 848 Evo, which is a great bike in its own right. Even with the 1199 coming out this year, the 848 Evo was still a huge seller for Ducati all year, and honestly I'd say in our showroom at least there was not a lot of "crossover" buyers who were considering both bikes. I think it's inevitable that the smaller bike will be revised eventually, but with the 848 Evo still selling well there's really not a huge hurry on Ducati's part to come out with a major revision in the short term. Maybe next year....
 
I could probably sell this idea to Ducati but I'm going to share my genius idea with y'all:

Chop a cylinder off the superquadro, giant single cylinder engine! And Ducati can race it in World Supersport! 599cc! :p

I was told they were having a hard time making the concept work on the smaller bike. This was by someone that works for Ducati, not a dealer. I was also told it would be a 799 package.
