I assume all markets are fitted with the same battery? I am speaking to some people here in the UK about a Lithium battery for faster starting and low weight and was wondering what battery is fitted to our bikes without having to remove the left side fairing.

Anyone know for sure?

battery type

Sorry,I got that wrong,I should have said a YT7B-BS,thats what my dealer told me anyway. If you look on Yuasa"s website it tells you the Pani has the YT12 same battery fitted in the 1198. Bit of conflict there but I do remember reading the Pani had a smaller battery and starter motor than the old model for the weight saving gains and dont forget the decompressor fitted on the Pani for easier cranking which a smaller starter motor could cope with. Hell just take fairing off and have a look. post your findings would you please so we all know. Cheers

I replaced mine with a Shorai and the stock battery was indeed the YT7B-BS

Thats interesting as the YT7B-BS is recommended for 400cc dirt bikes! Time to upgrade....

Howz it going for you with the Shorai battery fitted? Notice any improvement in anything? Personally i"ve not had any issue starting my Pani. In fact i"d say it sounds very healthy cranking over. Makes me wonder about those reports regarding knackered starter motors and tough starting. Take it easy.
