I'm trying to find a good set of clip ons for my S. As apposed to racing, my honest real objective is comfort. Yes, I'm aware which motorcycle I have lol.
Which clip ons are the best and how hard are they to change?
Thank you!

I'm interested in this also...more for removing the "motorcross" bars and replacing them with more the 7-10 deg angle and in to the tank a bit.

I used Gilles and they were very time consuming to fit. The instructions were incorrect in relation to where to drill the holes for the switch blocks to fit and for the throttle. It took me a long long time and a lot of swearing. I got the result I wanted but I am glad I was not paying someone by the hour to do it. As far as I know I am the only one who has imported a set into Australia.

Same here. I installed Ducabike clipons. It was very time consuming!! Drilling the holes at the right places, shortening the tubes and make the M18x1 threads at the bar ends is not that easy. Result is very cool, but I wouldn't do it again.
I also tried Woodcraft clips and gave up.

thanks, are they a slip through tube like the stock ones or butt in to the mount? steering stops adjusted?

Take it from someone who has done the work many times like the folks above.

Unless you have serious wrist issues, or are gonna track the bike forget the effort.

I'd suggest trying some Speedymoto's:

SpeedyMoto - Adjustable Clip-on

They have a bit of rise at the clamp, but not too much, and are very adjustable for reach, drop & sweep angle. Note that you will need to get a separate mount for the steering damper, but that will be the case with any non-oem clip-ons. If you can't find a comfy spot with them, you probably have the wrong bike... ;)

Lots of time spent with steering stop adjustment. Real pain in the .... As I said lots of hours of work to get it right.

Too much to write about and a pic is worth a thousand words. Have a look at the Gilles website its all there. Seems a simple job but not.

thanks brad,

yeah I had a look at the gilles site, the ones I seen look like they butt into the mount. I may do something later which will probably be different clamps with more angle. rearsets first!!

Yep. In my case I could leave the steering stops untouched. Handlebars are about 1" nearer to the tank. That gives room for the Stahlbus bleeding valves. Ducabike sells the bracket for the steering damper separately.

Is it a bad idea to push my levers down. That way my hand is more inline and my wrist is less bent on them?

I think a good idea
That's how mine are
It's how I was taught to set my levers when I started riding dirt bikes 40 years ago

Just my two cents

Thats with me too. Years of dirtbike riding as a kid. I always wondered if it was a bad idea on a streetbike. So you've done it to yours Brad? Does it take pressure off your wrist?
