While Fitting My GPS Module....

I noticed a number of very interesting things:

1) A snapped upper fairing slot that had been painted over.

2) The RHS mounting bolt for the nose cone was completely loose and ready to jump out. I'm sure this looseness accounts for both a rev dependant buzz/vibration I was hearing and the more blurry RHS wing mirror.

3) Wing mirror rubber gaskets incorrectly installed and cables incorrectly routed.

Anyhow, I stripped the thing down, gave her a good clean, fitted the GPS and built back up.

All good, with GPS now showing in the dash :D

yah, how bout some pics of gps.

Also, my mirrors (both) are very buzzy. Where is the bolt you said was loose? I need to check mine.

Is it integrated into your dash menu? I don't know much about the GPS unit for this bike. Track use? Road use? and how much it run yah if you don't mind me asking?

Basically, the GPS module lets you set a waypoint, which will then automatically trigger the LAP function on the DDA, every time you pass the spot.

It also collects GPS data so you can overlay location on to all of your bike performance data.

e.g. I went to the shop to buy milk 6-times and it told me my best run and on which bend I got most out of shape :p

Wonder if we can use it with such as google-maps, like a gps-tracker ?
If it saves the coordinates on the whole trip this shouldn't be to difficult to realise.

Well Done .. very happy that you got around to fitting the GPS .. not a trivial job ;-) I bet your dealer is going to .... a brick when you enquire about the patch work.

You not gone for that Billet fuel tank yet ? Quite a nice selection on the market.

Two mods that may interest you (1) Carbon Fiber Fuel tank with a clear vertical 0.5 inch band from top to bottom which allows the fuel link to be visibly seen and (2) Transparent crank case

Dude the DP billet cap is DNA only item not available in Europe, same as levers :(

Need to see some pics of the other bits you mention .....

I use the same method of lining all the bolts up around their bike to designate their relative position on the bike. ;-) Although I do also use the tops of spray cans set up in a pattern to put them in once it gets more involved.

Nice pics!

Yup, its a bolt-map :p

I did it on autopilot, but the pic just made me realise :D
