i have 3 things on the list:
lightened flywheel
ti- con rods
balanced crank
not sure when though...
I have added SL cams pistons and titanium inlets to my R motor so far I am very happy with the results .

Two words that will make you engine better than the SL for a fraction of the cost. "Ben Fox". Everything the SL has and more.

I'm still riding under 8,000 RPM a few up to 10,000 motor feels very strong revs quicker and the little torque the motor once has improved .
After this weekend I will be satisfied with run in process drop the oil head out to the track . I will do a few power runs on the dyno to see what sort of HP the bike picked up .
The few times I have opened up the throttle I have been impressed .
Your bike is a street/track or track only. You have to break it in for the first 600 miles again?
My bike is a race bike but I have put it back into street trim to do some miles .
The SL pistons are a two ring piston and I have replaced the sleeves as well so yes I am spending some time running the motor in .
I have on my list:
Stage 3: Lighten, knife edge, polish and balance
Carrillo Rods
lightened flywheel
Titanium valves. with beryllium exhaust seats
And new gaskets to get the squish area where we want it.
hopefully the end of next year.
Cool. Thanks for the information. I wonder what issues would a person run into if you just throw it right back on the track after a short (sub 600 miles) and an oil change. Maybe run the bike in on the track in Intermediate and keep it under 8000-10000rpms?
Don't let the wera paddock know that if you're running SS
i did it last winter apart from the 2 ring pistons. put in en RS inlet camshaft and increased comp through thinner gasket... works a doddle in combo with the 300 mm pipe . still topped the powercurve at 11K so no real need to rev it higher, where lifespan get s shortened severely ( 4000 to 1400 km between revisions)
for those wishing to put in TI conrods, they shoudl have done it before august as prices have doubled to 5K usd ...
That's who I was going to go with. Contacted him once and never heard back from him. I will try again though.
