Curios enough to start a poll if I knew how. Why are we seeing all these threads with new owners referring to this unbelievably powerful and masculine superbike as a "she"? This really puzzles me since I've never referred to any of my cars, trucks, bikes, AND certainly not all my Ducati's as a she. The only accessory which earned this title would have to be my wife!

Anyone agree, or do ya all call your badass bike "she"?

What would you prefer to say I was out riding him or I was out riding her or she was great to ride or he was great to ride....for a girl well they can say anything and get away with it:D

Good Point

I just got the same reply on another forum and will def agree, I see your point there my friend! I guess I use it. Well put man, keep it on one wheel out there!

Be sure I'll repost it if I ever get hold on it.
It was a digital one, so it maybe remains on one of my (almost) 20 HDDs lying on my desk.

Because "she" is like my second girlfriend... and I am not gay. Though I wouldn't be opposed to a gay guy referring to his bike as a dude.

I think in the US and British traditions (probably Italian and French too, but I don't know for sure), inanimate objects are referred to in the feminine. Even in the song "God Bless America," the US itself is referred to in the feminine, "stand beside her, and guide her." Whereas in Russian and German tradition, these things like bikes, cars, ships, etc. are referred in the masculine, and the countries themselves are known as the "fatherland." I prefer the US and British way personally.
