Wait till you see my write up on Carbon Fiber sticker Tank Guard!

"I lift things up and put them down."

Actually, mine is a POS and keeps coming off at the bottom. I even tape it with painter's tape when I am not riding it and it keeps popping up. I was thinking about shooting a couple tubes of Gorilla Glue underneath it to stop the popping up problem. That should be a solid solution and not cause any problems down the line. If that doesn't work, I think a couple self-tapping screws through the bottom edge should hold it. I'd do bolts, but when I was investigating the best way to do it I dropped like 8 nuts in the tank trying to see if I could hold them in place where the bolts would have to come through with chopsticks. Then I tried to fish them out and dropped one of the chopsticks in there so I just gave up and called it a day.

I installed a tank bag using screws once, it seems if you drill a hole in the tank, gas somehow can leak out?? So if you do that, use some flat washers or something to seal it - I used that stuff for raditators, worked great.

That JB Weld stuff? I put my grips on with that and everything shredded and went to hell when I tried to take them off and install new ones. Now I am riding around on the throttle tube and bare clip on, but luckily a bunch of the JB Weld and old grip material stayed attached so I have a decent grip. I tried melting it off with my arc welder, but I think I fried the battery and melted part of the windscreen. My eyesight hasn't been so good since then either, but I was wearing my Arai with light smoke when I did it so I can't figure out the problem.

Yea, JB makes it - Stop Leak - but I used Gunk's product, much higher end - all the racers use it, so I knows its the bestest.

I did not but I figured itd be around 400-500. Which I saw someone else said as well on here they got quoted $400.

I saw that pureducati has them on sale right now for $1799 so I was thinking of buying em.

how much of a sound difference are we talking about guys? never heard them I person always had stock, even on my 848

Did you get a quote to fit these from the dealer you are buying from??

Guys - I got a quote for $270.00 (AUD) from my dealer to install. I should have the slip on delivered very shortly meaning I'll have the whole weekend to spend trying to put them on myself.

Or for $270.00 do you think it may be best to leave it for the dealer to do?

I don't have the rear stand or all the tools. If someone has tackled it and thinks its simple enough I would rather spend the $270.00 on tools and a read stand and do it myself seeing as I can spend the time on it.

i still have my reservoir socks laying around. I have no idea where they go, or how to install them. That's the youtube i want to see. After i master those, i'm going to try and r&r my passenger pegs - i read somewhere they are removable.

lmao

You can do it Nuke! you don't need the rear stand just tools. Did you watch my video doing the install?

Yeah I did. Doesn't seem too bad... Don't think I'll remove the flapper valve though.

Bolt behind the chain looks annoying to remove.

That's the only hard one. I'm sure you will be fine with the install

Completed the install over the weekend. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.. Just need a bit of patience but its pretty straight forward.

Bike feels noticeably different ;)

Would love to see a vid explaining how to load the up map, my dealer fitted my cans for free when I bought the bike. Just curious.

Nuke, I'm also looking at slip ons. Is there a noticeable difference in the dB?.

It would be really short and boring... I promise you....

I got the bolt from my 1995 Kawasaki ZX6E. The bolts are from the front brake rotors. I'll get the exact size and take a picture of it.
